Each of the following memberships to Pinehurst Country Club include use of the dining facilities, golf, tennis, swimming pools, Beach Club, croquet and lawn bowls and discounts at the Pinehurst Spa. The following are 2011 rates. (1) Full Membership…Monthly fee: $361.00 There are no green fees for golf or court fees for tennis and lawn sports. (2) Tennis Membership…Monthly fee: $250.00 There are no court fees for tennis and lawn sports, but green fees for golf are applicable. golf: USGA & Greens in the South!

It's that time of year when I am looking for a host course for the qualifier for the USGA Women's Mid-Amateur Golf Championship ...even though the actual championship is almost a year away. Committee members, such as I am, are responsible for choosing the site and reaching in effect a contract with the golf course that will be hosting the qualifier. This championship is in early Fall so the qualifier must be late summer, which, in the Pinehurst area, is aerification central. This presents a big challenge...finding a golf course that is not having its greens aerated! So, my compromise is … (3 comments)

Another Wednesday night at Whispering Woods Golf Club in Whispering Pines, NC for "all you can eat" pizza for only $5.50 per person...better eat it all 'cause you can't take it home with you! Great friends and great fun! Going to check out Thursday nights with "all you can eat" ribs.

If you are into golf then June of 2014 is the place to be! The USGA has announced plans to hold both the Women's US Open and the Men's US Open back to back weeks...unprecedented! Since I live in Pinehurst I think it is great! My only question is when do the women get to play their practice rounds? … (0 comments)

golf: US Women's Mid-Amateur in Ann Arbor, Michigan

Last year I was appointed to the US Women's Mid-Amateur Golf Committee....what an incredible honor! I just returned from the national championship in Ann Arbor and what an experience! The championship was held on that great Donald Ross course, Barton Hills. The USGA is a phenomonal, well-oiled machine....with some of the most organized people I have ever met. My hat is off to Jeff Hall, Donna Mummert and Amy Watters. I also must say something about the 132 players that qualified at the state level...congratulations! The caliber of golf was extremely high with great sportsmanship throughout the 4 days of play. … (0 comments)

golf: It's a Beautiful Day in Pinehurst!

If you call the main number at Pinehurst Resort and Country Club, you will always be greeted with the phrase, "It's a beautiful day in Pinehurst!" It doesn't mattter if it is raining or snowing.....and in a sense the receptionist is actually right because it is always great to be in Pinehurst! Come for a visit....and stay for awhile.
