home staging: Stagers Unite - 05/18/09 03:14 PM
As in any industry, it is important to stay current and compare notes.
Since several of us finished our staging certification several years ago, we constantly stay in touch to keep up with the important issues that surround our industry and what is going on.
We are not competing with one another, but assisting each other in new stategies, presentation skills and better teaching techniques.  Some might say, what does a stager have to teach, and the answer is very simple.  It is our job to help teach the realtors how to explain to their clients the importance of what home … (4 comments)

home staging: Determine Your Goals And Keep Your Business Growing - 04/11/09 12:23 AM
Hi All-
It has been awhile since I have blogged.  There has been many reasons why.. I have been very busy staging, designing closets for clients and networking and I just did not have the time.
It is important to get back to the basics and determine the keys to any businesses success and follow the path.  Many of us are small business owners and find it difficult to get all that needs to be done completed without giving up all of our personal time.  I have been fortunate enough to be taking group business coaching classes with Mike Goldman of … (0 comments)

home staging: Make 2009 A Successful Year In Real Estate Sales - 01/08/09 02:15 PM
What the Television Staging Shows Are Not Showing You..

Real Estate Staging is a growing and vital part of the real estate industry.  Interest rates are coming down to an all time low, and many are looking to take advantage of the low rates.
If you presently own your home or apartment and want to make the move to a new home, so much has to be done.  You need to make sure that you get the highest value for your present property so you can purchase your newer home.
The best way to achieve this goal is to make … (0 comments)

home staging: LET'S BE THANKFUL - 11/24/08 11:16 AM
November is flying by so quickly, and Thanksgiving is just in a few days.  How many of us are just thankful for all that they have?
I think that I am the luckiest of all.. great kids, family and many wonderful friends.  Isn't that the most important of all?
All we hear on the news reports are about all of the terrible things happening with the economy, businesses closing, banks going under, people losing their homes.  What can some of us do to help the less fortunate?  I am trying to volunteer at a foundation that assists woman entering the work … (0 comments)

home staging: Bring In The Light - 11/04/08 02:03 PM
Fall is now upon us and the warmth of the summer is just a faint memory.  If you are Martha Stewart there would be so many ways to create the feel of summer in your home, but how many homeowners have that talent?
No matter what time of year it is, homes are for sale, and buyers are looking to buy.  So what can a Realtor do to help move the sale along?    Hiring a Home Stager certainly would be a plus.  At this time, it is so important to make the home stand out from all of the others … (0 comments)

home staging: Cyber thievery - 10/25/08 01:11 AM
I just want you to all to know that protecting whats yours in the cyber world is a MUST.
I have had my domain name for 2 1/2 years and it was just stolen..  A simple mistake by my webmaster and my domain was taken by what they call a Squatter.. it stinks
I was lucky enough to get a similar domain name, but it is very upsetting and a lot of work changing all of my contact info to the new domain name.  And frankly, it just makes me sad.  I have worked very hard for 2 1/2 years to … (0 comments)

home staging: ANOTHER HAPPY BUILDER - 05/03/08 02:12 AM
WHEN WILL THEY ALL LEARN?  Staging really does work..
I just received an email from a builder that I staged an apartment for.  The good news is he sold one of the units within 3 weeks of finishing the staging and the purchaser bought the furniture that we put in the model unit.
Guess the only way for everyone to learn that staging is a must is to see what units sell and which ones do not..
It is a proven fact, staged homes sell faster and for more money.
How do we get the builders and homeowners to understand that it does not take … (3 comments)

home staging: What We Don't Know Will Hurt Us - 04/24/08 06:18 AM
If you ever felt that you need to know more to get somewhere, then you are correct.
I have had searching for marketing and network groups for several months.  I had finally found one, registered, and then it got cancelled.  I was so disappointed.
I was then invited to attend a visitor day at a local networking group, and went.  It was wonderful.  I now have the ability to meet so many terrific business owners who are networking among themselves.
Knowledge is great, we never know enough.  Knowing the right people is also a must.  Getting out there and meeting other professionals is enlightening. … (3 comments)

home staging: Ode To The Happy Client - 01/15/08 03:58 AM
Happy New Years to all-
It is that time of year again..
A new year to get a fresh start on all the projects that we never finished last year, and promised ourselves we would.
It is also a time when we can look to make clients happy.  The Real Estate Market is slow, but it also means that they should  get ready to sell anyway.  Homes are selling, but it is the ones that have the instant attraction to the purchaser that go quickly.
This is the time to evaluate, implement and get the sale done.  I have been working with a client … (1 comments)

home staging: The Power Of Learning - 11/17/07 12:08 AM
Morning Everyone-
What is great feeling it is when you leave an event and feel like you have accomplished so much.
After almost two years of trying to get my felllow stagers together to brainstorm and talk, Val finally took hold of the bulls horns and made it happen.  Thanks Val.
It was alot to discuss in such a short time, but it was all informative and interesting to listen to all of the different tools each of us uses to run and develop our businesses.
I hope that we do this again very soon, and lets all keep in touch.

home staging: Stager Gets Techie with Picasa - 10/29/07 02:07 AM
Hi Everyone-
I just want to let you know how cool it is to learn to be a little more techie with this new internet age..
In my field it is so important to be able to photograph all the work that I do.  The photos for all of the clients takes up a lot of file space and is difficult to manage.  I was recently introduced to Picasa, and it so cool.
I am now able to import all the pictures in folders, post them on web albums and email them to clients and Realtors.I am also able to send links of before … (3 comments)

home staging: Sales and Marketing - 09/23/07 02:29 AM
Hi Everyone-
I just wanted to tell you about one of the most enlightening experiences that I had this week, and at the same time ask for your help.
One of my vendors gave me a ticket to a sales motivation seminar at the Javitz Center.  I had never been to one before, and it was one of the most interesting days I have had in years.
I have owned and operated businesses, worked in real estate management, run construction jobs worth fortunes.  I learned so much in that 7 hours I cannot wait to keep expanding my horizons.
Now that I learned so … (1 comments)

home staging: The Sun Is Shining - 05/01/07 03:22 AM
HOW WONDERFUL IS IT TO FINALLY HAVE THE SUN SHINING UPON US..
THE DREADED WINTER IS FINALLY GONE, AND THE TREES ARE BLOOMIMG..
HOW MUCH EASIER IS IT FOR A HOME TO BE SOLD WHEN EVERYTHING IS GREEN OUTSIDE, BUT WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THEY GET IN THE DOOR AND IT JUST DOES NOT LOOK AS SHARP..
THIS IS WHERE I COME IN.. I WORK WITH THE HOMEOWNER AND REALTOR TO MAKE THE INSIDE LOOK AS INVITING AND VISUALLY ATTRACTIVE.. NOTHING LIKE WALKING INTO A HOUSE AND GETTING THAT FEELING OF WANTING TO LIVE THERE.. THIS IS WHY HOME STAGING IS SO IMPORTANT..
REALTORS IN … (0 comments)
