missouri: Tourist Season Soon to Begin at the Lake of the Ozarks - 04/06/10 03:37 PM
Video Gets Us in the Mood for Summer Vacation Fun The Lake Ozarks Visitors and Convention Bureau in Lake Ozarks have prepared a great video that highlights the best of what the Lake has to offer. I can almost feel the lake breeze on my face as I watch the videos of boating. Mmmmm.
It also reminded me that it's been a while since I've been to the State Park to ride horses, I think I'll go this weekend.

Winter Hours in Effect Now Through February 28

Once again this year I had forgotten that the Premium Outlet Mall has shortened hours during the months of January and February.  I pass this reminder on in hopes of saving someone else a couple gallons of gas!

missouri: Camdenton Real Estate Market Report - 11/01/09 07:55 AM
Sales of Single Family Residences Rise For 2nd Straight Month
Sales of Single Family Residences Rise For 2nd Straight Month A snapshot taken of the market activity for Camdenton home sales in recent months gives rise to optimism. The number of home sales in Sept and Oct show improvement over the extemely disappointing summer sales season. Many first-time homebuyers hoping to take advantage of the $8000 tax credit currently scheduled to expire in November likely account for much of the increase. We will all, no doubt, be watching closely to see where the real estate market goes from here as we enter what … (0 comments)

missouri: Melody Anderson Joins Lakewide Realty - 11/01/09 07:49 AM
Camdenton Real Estate Office Shows Big Promise

Big changes don't come easily to me, and the decision to leave real estate giant RE/MAX for a small, privately-owned real estate office was no exception.   (That big RE/MAX balloon had become quite the security blanket for me these past years!)
Then one day in a middle of a meeting it struck me that fear and doubt were keeping me from making the change I really felt compelled to make.   With that realization the decision to make the change immediately followed.   And my enthusiasm has grown every day since.
Thanks to the internet and computer technologies, the selling … (2 comments)

missouri: Asia Cuisine Restaurant in Osage Beach - 08/08/09 02:08 AM
Wonderful Place for a Quiet and Relaxing Meal
One word describes my experience at lunch today:  LOVELY!
That word come to mind often as I was taken to my
seat - lovely decor,  atmosphere,  service and music!

So even before my food was served,  I decided I would return -
if only for the refreshingly quiet and peaceful atmosphere.
And then the waiter brought the nicest  ‘box lunch'  I'd ever had:
egg roll with hot mustard glaze, tempura vegetables, and kung pao
chicken.  It was not only lovely,  but delicious.

missouri: Surprising Encounters at State Park in Osage Beach - 06/12/09 01:34 PM
You just never know who you’ll run into! I stopped by the State Park in Osage Beach the other day to eat my lunch and to enjoy the sun - which had been more than a little elusive these past few weeks.  Pulling up to one of the picnic tables I heard something rumbling around inside a trash bin.   Curious,  I softly honked my horn, hoping to stir the animal’s curiosity as well.    Immediately this little character popped up.

He  took a quick look, and then dropped back down into the can to continue his business.    I was so tickled at this encounter  I just sat quietly in … (0 comments)

missouri: Ha Ha Tonka State Park - 02/03/09 02:58 AM
Snapshots from a winter stroll After days of subfreezing temperatures last week, I took advantage of a pretty day Sunday afternoon to walk around at Ha Ha Tonka, located on the western south western tip of the Lake of the Ozarks.   I was struck throughout the afternoon by the quiet there.  I would pass  people on trails now and then, and see an occasional fisherman at the water’s edge, but mostly there was only the sound of birds and rippling waters.  Absent the lush greens and vibrant colors of other seasons, I saw how the winter season at Ha Ha Tonka … (0 comments)

missouri: First time homebuyers want to live in Macks Creek - 12/10/08 06:08 AM
Life-long residents say they wouldn't live anywhere else

I have been working with a young couple in recent months trying to help them buy their first home.   Life-long residents of Macks Creek, their won't consider house-hunting in any other community - no matter the bargain.
The feeling they have of being at home in this small town, and the determination not to live anywhere else is the very same sentiment expressed by two other young couples to whom I've sold homes this year in Macks Creek.
I've asked all of them at some point why they want to live  in Macks Creek - and … (0 comments)

missouri: Showing real estate on fall afternoon - 11/20/08 01:20 AM
A drive down a lake road in Camdenton, Missouri

Fall is a favorite season of mine, and drives down quiet lake roads like this one easily show one of the reasons why.  Although the colors this fall weren't as particularly vibrant as usual, there's still such a a beauty to them - particularly in the light of an afternoon sun.
But the beauty of Fall isn't all about the colors.  There's also a kind of quietness that comes along with the season that is so welcomed by me - particularly on the heels of a very active and busy summer.  … (0 comments)

missouri: Ha Ha Tonka State Park Castle Ruins - 10/31/08 09:33 AM

European-style castle ruins resting upon the highest bluff in the Lake area is the focal point of one of Missouri's most fascinating state parks.

Built originally by a Kansas City businessman the castle was first utilized as a mansion retreat, and later as a hotel. Gutted by fire in the 1940's, and purchased by the State of Missouri in the 1970's, the castle ruins inspire awe when viewed by land or water or sky.
Located just 5 miles from Camdenton's Town Square, Ha Ha Tonka state park is a geographical wonderland of rock formations, bluffs, caves, sinkholes, hiking trails, … (1 comments)
