princeton nj real estate home buyers: Princeton - are kids going to top colleges? - 12/20/07 09:42 AM
If you live in Princeton and have a child in the Princeton school system, it is not possible to not hear conversations about college admissions. I know that in Manhattan, if a child is not accepted into the “right” school at birth, the parents start seeing a shrink. This phenomenon has spread to Princeton. People buy homes in Princeton, with the thoughts of their kids going to the best colleges. Even the parents of the middle and elementary school kids talk about colleges.
Parents and kids obsession with college admissions is not new. I have four kids of various ages and when … (3 comments)

princeton nj real estate home buyers: Princeton real estate - Skillman Montgomery - are the buyers looking or waiting? - 12/17/07 12:25 PM
Are buyers looking for Princeton homes for sale or waiting on the sidelines for real estate prices to fall further? The same question applies to Skillman, Montgomery homes for sale. If you read the press it surely seems to be the later rather then former. I just came back from the showing of a special very large property in Skillman, Montgomery Township, for which I happen to be the listing  agent. The buyer has very particular needs that require accommodating a lot of family members. They have been looking for a very long time, without success. I am not sure if … (7 comments)

princeton nj real estate home buyers: Princeton NJ real estate questions? Should you ask real estate agent? - 12/15/07 12:39 AM
What is my house worth in Princeton? What is my house worth in Hopewell? Should I sell now or wait till spring? Where is the real estate market going?  I have yet to meet a person who is not interested in real estate. We are talking about home values at cocktail parties, go to the neighbors' open houses, look for home values on Trulia. Why is that? In his book "House Lust: American's Obsession with Our Homes" - Daniel McGinn (Doubleday, 2007) suggests that the reason is our lack of community and isolation. To me the answer is the fact that … (9 comments)

princeton nj real estate home buyers: Is there truth in real estate marketing ? - 12/08/07 04:25 AM
How can you tell what’s truth in the Princeton real estate marketing or for that matter any marketing at all? Did you ever try the detergents that promise to take all the stains out, or those miracle creams that erase the wrinkles in front of your eyes? Did you ever write or respond to a personal ad? I was writing this post, when in the middle of it I read the excellent post by Jeff Dowler, which if you didn’t read it yet, make sure you do. His topic in some way related to mine. Jeff Belonger also wrote an interesting … (92 comments)

What if there was a way you can just place a note somewhere indicating what you would like to get for your home and just wait to see if anyone comes and makes you an offer you can't refuse .No stress, no mess. Does that sound great? princeton nj real estate home buyers: When looking for Princeton homes for sale - consider Princeton Ridge - 11/17/07 11:38 AM
Looking for homes for sale in Princeton? What neighborhood would be best for us? This is one of the first questions home buyers ask when they are relocating and moving to Princeton.  The first surprising answer is that there are actually two Princetons, officially known as Princeton Borough and Princeton Township. Both municipalities share the Princeton school system, but otherwise are two completely separate political and administrative municipalities.Princeton Borough covering 1.76 square miles and a population of 13, 578 residents usually attracts people who are looking for walking distance to High school, downtown and University. The homes are often on smaller … (4 comments)

princeton nj real estate home buyers: Ten reasons real estate clients want to pay more to the agent - 11/12/07 06:05 PM
Why should any real estate buyer or seller want to pay more to their agent? Isn’t it exactly the opposite of what clients want: pay less or not pay at all? Here is the two word answer: Ritz Carlton. Do not read further if you as a real estate client do not want “Ritz Carlton treatment” or if you are an agent who is not interested in providing it.What do I mean by Ritz Carlton treatment? I just stayed at the Ritz Carlton Battery Park in New York - it was expensive and worth every penny I paid. Let me give … (144 comments)

princeton nj real estate home buyers: What is Going On In The Princeton Real Estate Market? - 08/30/07 03:04 AM
I get asked this question many times a day. We all want to know how and if the turmoil and uncertainty of the broader markets affect our local real estate market. There is, unfortunately, no one answer that explains it all. That's why we may read so many contradictory views in the press and from the experts. In this post I wanted to give you some data to consider for the greater Princeton area - West Windsor, Hopewell and Montgomery Township.Average Price Sold - 2007 vs. 2006Princeton Township and Borough and Hopewell have increases in the average sale price year-to-date, respectively: … (0 comments)
