From Time Magazine; February 2008 I recently came across this article that summarizes perfectly the current state of the real estate market here in South Orange County. And surprisingly...it has nothing to do with finding steals at 20-30% below market value, bottoming out prices or agents trying to trick their clients into buying when it's not right for them. Famed Money Manager is perhaps best known for his timeless wisdom that you can beat the pros by focusing on stocks of companies where you either work or shop or have some other edge. The voiceover is banter between them about everything from interest rates to shenanigans at a long-ago holiday party. Hope Now hotline leaves callers frustrated; ‘more work to be done' From an article today at MSNBC.com, it seems The Hope Now Alliance, a private partnership organized by the federal government, seems to be falling short of expectations. Though the Alliance is pursuing its mission on several fronts, including a mass mailing offering help to homeowners at risk of default, the centerpiece of the effort is a toll-free hotline, 1-888-995-HOPE.The Hope Now hotline has left many callers frustrated and without hope, judging from e-mail correspondence.
