twitter: The Best Times to Post on Social Media - 04/17/15 11:50 AM
You might have seen a few infographics floating around about the best times to post on social media. If you haven't it's a good idea to take a look.
One mistake people often make is they think posting everything at the same time is a good idea. Unfortunatley, that usually isn't the case.
You see you can attract a lot of different people to your website if you work on posting your Tweets, blog posts, Facebook posts and even YouTube videos all at different times during the week.
These stats from QuickSprout provide one of my favorite looks at the best times to post on social … (4 comments)

twitter: How to Make Awesomely Clickable Blog and Social Media Photos - 04/16/15 03:13 AM
If you read my post up yesterday, The Easiest Way to Wow People With Your Blog Photos, I left you with a little bit of a cliffhanger.
Sorry about that, but I know people don't have time to read blogs all day (you'd rather be out selling!) So I try to make mine on the shorter side.
Anyway, today I want to show you how I made the photos you saw in my examples yesterday.
It's super easy.
I use two tools. The first is my favorite free stock photo site Pixabay, and the second is an awesome free photo creating site called Canva.

Let's face it, people are visual. Even though we're taught not to judge a book by it's cover, when you see something that catches your eye, aren't you more likely to click on it?
I know I am.
That's why I decided to up my game a bit on my own blog over at The Property Copy Co. I wanted to make my blog photos a bit more eye catching. And I wanted the photos to be able to do double duty.
Now, I can use my photos at the top of my blog posts as well as on all my social media.

twitter: Are You Social Media Ready? - 03/07/15 09:59 AM
Social media is a huge driver of traffic today. It's so big that it's virtually unacceptable to not be online for anyone who is looking to build a brand or a business.

Plus, just "being" on social media isn't nearly enough. It doesn't count if you have an account if you never actually update it. That certainly isn't going to help build any sort of brand recognition over the long run.

The first step to get social media ready is to embrace it. Social media is here and only going to expand, so if you're not on board, it's … (2 comments)

twitter: Are You Scheduling Your Marketing? - 03/07/15 09:08 AM

Marketing is super important to any business, but for real estate agents?

Marketing needs to really be spot on, and this is especially true when it comes time to promote your own brand online.

Younger generations, especially, are locked into the online world today, online is the first place they go when they start looking for homes, online is the way they contact agents, and so on and so on.

You get the point.

So the real question is. How much time are you scheduling each week to get your online maretking up and running?

twitter: 5 Places to Promote Your Content Online - 03/07/15 08:25 AM
One of the biggest mistakes people make is not promoting their content. Believe me, I've been there.

When you write a new blog post you have to do a lot of work to get it out there.

Most people typically spend 80% of their time producing content and only 20% of their time promoting it. In reality, many of the very best marketers out there flip those numbers.

Of course, it's important to be sure you're providing your readers (and potential clients) with high quality content, but you want to make sure people can actually see it too.

twitter: 5 Tips to Improve Your Twitter Skills - 01/30/15 04:41 AM
One of the biggest issues people find when using social media is trying to still come across as a human. This is especially true when you are part of a brand.
The good news there are a couple of easy things you can do to promote your brand on Twitter and also showcase your personality as well. This is going to help you gain more followers, have higher engagement and add some potential leads to your pipeline.
Let's take a look.
1. Use a variety of media. Don't just stick to text. You can use all sorts of tools to insert … (4 comments)

twitter: How to Use BuzzSumo to Find Content and Ideas Quickly - 01/27/15 05:05 AM
In my last post, Three of My Favorite Time Saving Social Media Tools, I got a lot of comments from people who had never heard of the tools I'd mentioned but were very interested.

So, I figured, since I am pretty experienced in all three, I'd devote a few blog posts to diving a bit deeper into each one. I know how so many people in real estate are super pressed for time, so learning a new system from scratch can seem pretty daunting.

Hopefully, this will help!

Let's get started.

twitter: Three of My Favorite Time Saving Social Media Tools - 01/26/15 10:31 PM

Still struggling to find time to market yourself online via social media? I know the feeling! That's why I thought I'd share some of my favorite tools I use for social media that are real time savers.
Here they are:
BuzzSumo
What I love about BuzzSumo is it tackles two things at once. First, it shows you what some of the most shared content for a particular keyword has been over a period of time.
Second, it gives you a great look at what type of content is being shared, perfect for thinking about your own blog posts. Here's a … (48 comments)

twitter: How Are You Using Social Media in Your Business? - 01/22/15 01:16 AM
I'm sure by now you've all heard how important social media is for your business. Social media provides an interesting platform for real estate professionals. Especially considering the vast majority of people who are looking to buy and sell a home are looking online first.

The problem is, social media is a lot more complicated than it seems. Everyone says "Oh start a Twitter account, get on Facebook and leads, leads, leads!" That's not quite how it happens. And, if you've been experimenting with social media you probably already know this.

One of the biggest mistakes I've seen in … (3 comments)

twitter: Are You Making These Common Social Media Mistakes? - 11/20/14 07:19 AM
Social media might seem easy, but it isn't. It's a lot more than just putting up a generic post or tweet and calling it a day. The sad thing is, a lot of people make the same mistakes on social media over and over again. Even big brands. Do you want to identify yourself as a social media newbie right off the bat? Didn't think so. Making sure you are using social media the correct way right off the bat is going to really pay off in the long run (and might even bring in a few potential clients). Let's get … (2 comments)
