Today would have been Carole Provenzale's Birthday. We lost our beloved mother and friend of ActiveRain 3 years ago, yet at times the wound can fee so fresh.

Yesterday and today I've started updating my back-link pages to my site, along with various others. I just ventured onto Google +. It's so simple if you have not done this yet. All you have to do is sign in at Google Plus, fill out the basic questions and your profile is created...it's so simple! Then you can connect with friends, family, co-workers, create circles (which I'm still learning about), add photo's and viedos. It has a similar feel to Facebook.

Yet ANOTHER "Social Networking" site. Yes, I know many of you have been on them for a long time but honestly, I can't keep up with it all. I read all the posts about Twitter (which I am still struggling with) and finally decided I HAD to do it...I joined Facebook.

In the New York State Lotto, they say it takes a dollar...and a dream. I wonder what the founders of Activerain thought?
When I joined Activerain in October, 2006, it had about 6,000 members. Wow, I thought, that's a lot. NEVER did I imagine it would grow to the heights and status it has today with over 136,118 members and a site so loved by Google http://www.Google.com it is crawled every 15 minutes or so!

In a recent study due to be published next month by JAMA (Journal of American Medical Association) it was reported that the business/social media website ACTIVERAIN http://www.Activerain.com has reduced both Holiday Stress significantly (82 %) along with what is commonly known as SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder).
Preliminary Studies indicate that Patients being treated in both studies reported a sharp decline in feelings of loneliness and isolation and a sharp increase in Business (77%) for those who blogged consistently.

Many of us are "addicted" to this site-and can't quite figure out WHY. We all sometimes let things slide....the wash can wait, the dishes will still be there as we sit and blog and comment for hours on end, often times until we are bleary eyed.
