Have you ever been to the Malibu Lagoon? This is a great gem of a park for observing various wildlife, local surfers, to paint or just relax. The Malibu Lagoon is where the Malibu creek meets the Pacific ocean, pretty cool! This park is also home to the famous Malibu Pier, Adamson House, Surfrider Beach and the Malibu Lagoon Museum, all within walking distance of each other.
Be aware, the beach state park does charge a fee for parking. To avoid that fee, its recommended to park near the Malibu Public Library on "Civic Center Way." The image above illsutrates the street I'm referring to. From there, its a … (1 comments)

Visiting Santa Monica Beaches in October is a great treat. Many of the tourists have gone home, allowing for a more intimate connection with the landscape. Just be sure to bundle up during the evening hours as it does have a slight chill in the air.

Visiting California? Here is a great beach community to check out while in the state. Its called Manhattan Beach.
This is a beautiful beach community that offers stretches of clean beaches that range from high to low energy of activities. In some areas you could just sit and take in the sounds of the waves and swim to your hearts content. While in other areas you will be accompanied by local surfers, bike riders and pick up volleyball games.
