I've been staying out in California for over a month now to provide Feng Shui Consultations and workshops. As my time here is ending, my husband and I decided to visit Utah, in particular Zion National Park. I'll be posting many other photos that highlight regions of the park we had time to explore. This redwood tree is located in Sequoia National Park in California and is believed to be between 2,300 and 2,700 years old. It towers about 275 feet above the ground, is the largest non-clonal tree in the world by volume, and is more than 100 feet around at the base. Wow!

I personally found being around these gentle giant Sequoia trees gave a feeling of being humbled (with obvious reasons) and supported emotionally and spiritually. In other words, there was a feeling of an internal healing of some sort. Scientifically you could also say that feeling came from the releasing of negative ions.

Looking for a unique place to camp? Have you considered the desert? Over the Colombus Day Weekend I camped in the Mojve Desert. It was such a treat, as the desert provides a haven for peace and quiet. Not only that, you can discover an array of wildlife, as they come scurrying out during dawn and dust hours to avoid the desert sun.
According to REI, the best seasons to camp in the Mojve Desert is during the Fall and Winter Seasons. And do not be fooled! Just because the temperatures feel cooler, does not mean you go camping and hiking into a desert unprepared.

Mount Baldy or Mt Baldy, formerly Camp Baynham and Camp Baldy, is an unincorporated community in the San Gabriel Mountains, in San Bernardino County near the eastern border of Los Angeles County, in southern California.
