feng shui manhattan: The 'Angel Lady' of Long Island--This is why I do what I do by Feng Shui Long Island - 02/02/08 10:01 PM
If you lived on Long Island many years ago, it's more then likely you'll know who the ‘Angel Lady' of Long Island is.  If not, here's a link to part one of her story as told by Newsday  Halo My Dear Angel
In brief, Fran Lenzo was your average Long Island lady with a pretty home in the lovely town of Huntington and remarried to a wonderful man named Jerry.  They lived, they worked and they played just as any happy couple would.  Until the day Fran found a lump in her breast.  And heard the words malignant, chemotherapy and masectomy...too … (22 comments)

feng shui manhattan: Feng Shui in New York City @ Historic Tudor City by Feng Shui Long Island - 01/29/08 08:52 AM
Feng Shui in New York City @ Historic Tudor City
As well as I think I know New York City and much of Manhattan, I don't know how I've missed this beautiful, historic place.  I'd likely not have seen it, either, had I not been called to Feng Shui a New York City Apartment.  I was fortunate to get there early and had time to explore this lovely part of Midtown that I had never seen before.
It was truly like stepping back in time.  The streets are very narrow for residents only and it is the quietest area of the City I … (25 comments)

feng shui manhattan: Feng Shui Consultations "Online" by Feng Shui Long Island - 01/26/08 12:38 PM
I have received many emails from people asking how to find a qualified Feng Shui Consultant in their area and I’m thrilled that hopefully I have helped generate an interest in Feng Shui. When I signed on to Activerain I was actually surprised to hear the number of people that were unfamiliar with it and to hear of all the misconceptions about it. Today I read Teri's Notes & Anecdotes on Twin Cities Real Estate  post called Outside the Box Thinking Gets Homes SOLD!  I know that many homeowners are using Feng Shui more and more and am thrilled that Real Estate Agents … (19 comments)

feng shui manhattan: The Chinese New Year, Pt 2--Make it Count! by Feng Shui Long Island - 01/22/08 10:43 AM
Yes, there ARE more things to do for the New Year.  I know, believe me, you don't want to hear it (and I don't blame you) but it's especially important this year and I'll tell you why.
This is the year of the RAT.  It is the FIRST in the twelve cycles of the zodiac that make up Chinese Astrology.  Because it is the first, this is a year of plentiful opportunities and prospects for anyone, no matter what sign you are!  That's some great news for all of us.
It is a wonderful year for starting new projects and making long term investments. So even … (31 comments)

feng shui manhattan: Retiring BACK to Long Island and New York City? Are You NUTS? by Feng Shui Long Island - 01/17/08 06:29 AM
NEW YORK CITY.  You either love it or you hate it.  I recall many years ago as one after another neighbor starting leaving my old block when growing up in Wantagh, Long Island.  They'd had it with the ever escalating prices and taxes and the winters were just too difficult.  Most went South, to warmer weather and a few went out west to Arizona, ready to relax and retire comfortably.
Those have always been my thoughts as well.  The winters her can get more difficult and I have much less of a tolerance to the cold.  But the rest of the year … (24 comments)

feng shui manhattan: Something's Coming....Can You FEEL It? by Feng Shui Long Island - 01/11/08 04:07 AM
Something's Coming; I don't know WHAT it is but it's gonna be GREAT!  Some of my favorite lines to a favorite musical is what comes to mind today.  I woke up this morning with absolute joy in my heart but don't know or recognize the source.  In sharp contrast to the weather today, which on Long Island is cold, rainy and just gray, I feel completely the opposite.  And I don't know why.
It's one of those rare days we all get from time to time and I wish they came more often.  It's a combination of hope, belief, happiness and pure … (28 comments)

feng shui manhattan: INTUITIVE Feng Shui by Feng Shui Long Island - 01/05/08 12:52 PM
I believe we ALL have some Intuition.  This isn't to say that we always USE it or even acknowledge it, but it's there none the less.  The more you choose to ignore it, the less it will come.  There is something called ‘Intuitive Feng Shui.'  Some Feng Shui Consultants practice by this method only, they use their intuition to guide the changes they feel a client should make.
And some clients have it as well, though they are often unaware of it.  When I am speaking to a client prior to a consultation I will always ask what they know of Feng … (29 comments)

feng shui manhattan: I'll Have a Cup of Coffee---With a Side of INSIGHTS by Feng Shui Long Island - 01/02/08 08:16 AM
Long, LONG ago when I was in school for Hairdressing, I remember we had to learn a Fingerwave, an old hairstyle that was popular in the 20's.  "WHY would we have to learn that, it is SO outdated and no one wears it anymore" we moaned.  Our teacher looked at us and said "You always have to go backward in anything you do to see where you're going; think of ART, FASHION, HAIRSTYLES or your LIFE."  We took her at her word and learned it (and believe it or not, it actually DID come in useful!).
Some people say not to look … (27 comments)

feng shui manhattan: WAIT! 2007 is Ending? Does Anyone Else Want a RE-DO? by Feng Shui Long Island - 12/31/07 01:57 AM
Am I the only one on Activerain that doesn't want to see 2007 end?  Isn't there just ONE other person?  We have over 62,000 members, surely some loved this year as much as I did!
It's funny, this is probably the FIRST year Ever that I didn't want to end...and it is.  I had such a good time this year that I can't imagine having all those blessings again in 2008.  Sure, they (whoever "they" are, I've never quite figured that one out) have thrown me a few curve balls.  Just to TRY to get me off course.  Maybe it did-for a … (34 comments)

feng shui manhattan: Just ONE Feng Shui Picture--That Speaks :) by Feng Shui Long Island - 12/27/07 06:17 AM
Whoever said one picture is worth a thousand words was surely speaking of this one; from a Feng Shui Consultants point of view.  I've seen this particular corner before but they appear to just keep adding more signs.
Ok, you don't have to know much about Feng Shui to see what's wrong with this picture---as a matter of fact, you probably don't have to know ANYTHING about Feng Shui to see what's wrong. This picture is near an intersection on a busy road on Long Island. We speak often of making someone feel welcomed into our "space" and making them feel warm and invited.
Let's not forget … (38 comments)

feng shui manhattan: There IS a Santa Claus--And He Came to Farmingdale, Long Island! by Feng Shui Long Island - 12/17/07 02:44 PM
Santa makes a visit to every street in the Village of Farmingdale, Long Island, every single year.  I have been here 30 years and he hasn't missed a one.  I've missed a few but I know he's been here, there are Candy Canes left for us!  He must know I have a sweet tooth!
This year I heard the fire engines off in a distance. And they kept going.  I was actually starting to get alarmed, thinking it might be a fire when I remembered it MUST be Santa.  The bells got louder and louder and I went in search of the … (30 comments)

feng shui manhattan: It's been QUITE a Week!! I have all of YOU to Thank... by Feng Shui Long Island - 12/16/07 11:25 AM
I rarely put up updates...I often wonder if anyone really cares.  But some wonderful things have happened and I've had quite a few of them this week...At least one of them I know you'd like to hear about; and I've saved it for the end-- (I LOVE those Happy Endings)!
I received not one but two wonderful phone calls this week from  people from ActiveRain that I have never spoken to.  I am honored that they would think of me and especially honored that they would take the time to call me....Bless you both!  And to those of you who were kind … (35 comments)

feng shui manhattan: Pet Friendly Feng Shui? Nonsense. Or IS it?? by Feng Shui Long Island - 12/15/07 03:15 PM
Pet Friendly Feng Shui?  Are we going too far?
Years ago some consultants started speaking of an environment that their PETS are comfortable in.  While some thought the idea was ridiculous, I had to think that to me, my pets are part of my FAMILY.  They're my other children I have running around and I'd spend hours looking for just the right bed or treats I knew they would really like.  So what is wrong with trying to harmonize THEIR world?
I've had many pets through the years as I was the one always bringing home they stray I'd find wandering around or … (26 comments)

feng shui manhattan: Living, Learning and Embracing The DAO by Feng Shui Long Island - 12/12/07 07:46 AM
Do The Dao
Sounds like a dance, doesn't it?  I am sure some of you are well familiar with it but others may not be.  And you no longer have to believe a Feng Shui consultant from Long Island, you can now get the best of this information from Dr. Wayne Dyer who has just released his newest book, "Change your Thoughts, Change your Life-Living in the Wisdom of The Tao."  Who cares?  Well, I can't speak for other places but can tell you here on Long Island the calls I receive more often are for pre purchase clients from other countries. They … (23 comments)

feng shui manhattan: An ActiveRain Success Story---of Another Kind by Feng Shui Long Island - 12/07/07 01:20 AM
I came home from an appointment yesterday to find a postal service box on my steps.  I wondered what it might be because I don't recall that I have ordered anything that hadn't already come.  I got inside, took care of Skylar and Sugar and went to listen to my messages, the box sitting on the table, forgotten.
I got caught up in answering messages, email and things I had not been able to do.  Finally late at night I remembered the box and went to open it.  I found a colorfully wrapped little box inside it, guarded by lots of beautiful, … (46 comments)

feng shui manhattan: If you can STRETCH, You can FLY!! by Feng Shui Long Island - 12/05/07 11:06 AM
It started last January and I remember it distinctly.  I was doing some work on the computer and the phone rang.  It was just after 2pm.  The person on the other end explained they were thinking of a project that involved Feng Shui and proceeded to explain a little about it.  He asked me many questions such as what methods I used, if I were Certified, and about verifiable references.  "It will take a long time," he said, "are you up to it?"  It was like nothing I've ever done before.  I heard myself saying "Of course!" and wondering what I … (30 comments)

feng shui manhattan: Go Ahead--Change Someone's Day Today, I DARE You! by Feng Shui Long Island - 12/04/07 11:28 AM
It has always been said that it is the little things in life.  It's not a day we remember when we think back fondly on something; it is a moment in time.  A kind gesture by someone, a hearty laugh, a hug at the end of a day.  Many of us wake up with the thoughts and conviction to make this a beautiful day for ourselves.  Some of us "pre-plan" our days ahead of time to help ensure things will go well and have the best outcomes every day.  Some of us just count our blessings when our feet hit the … (37 comments)

feng shui manhattan: Another Day, Another Fair and Some Reflections---From Feng Shui Long Island in Massapequa - 10/09/07 11:13 AM
I'm not quite sure if I found her or she found me; no matter.  We're Activerainers and one thing we have in common is that we BOTH love our local fairs.  If you haven't guessed by now, I'm speaking of Lisa Heindel and here's a link to her latest adventure:  2007 Gretna Heritage Festival a Big Success
This fair isn't one I usually go to but it is the ONLY fair my son goes to.  Having my daughter home from college for the weekend (and already tired from the previous fair that same day) we decided to go meet up with … (21 comments)

feng shui manhattan: Digging, Ecavating....UNEARTHING -- Things I needed to Learn (A Feng Shui Perspective) - 09/27/07 02:27 AM
I never cease to be amazed at how profound our surroundings effect us or what they can cause.  I knew when these problems surfaced in my house, some ENERGY was being stirred up,  just didn't realize the extent of it.  After five full weeks of intense and deep digging to level the ground I was curious to see what would eventually SURFACE.  I somehow thought all the good things would come to light but I realized something important that I should have already known:  You need to fully let go of the OLD in order to bring in the NEW.
Actually, I should have suspected … (18 comments)
