After providing a Feng Shui Consultation in Sayville, NY over the weekend, Long Island I decided to take advantage of this wonderful October weather and enjoy going outside! Sometimes you need to just seriously take a break, even if for a solid hour or two, to allow alone time and gathering of thoughts and rejuvenation of personal energy. One of my favorite places to do this when on Long Island is along the Fire Island Cost line. I absolutely LOVE it here, especially during Fall and Winter, when the touristy crowds have dissipated. “Fu” in Chinese means wealth, good fortune, and prosperity. Fu Dogs are known as Guardian Lions which have been used in China since the Han Dynasty (206 BC – 220 AD). Another name is Chi lins which describes a mythical creature that features aspects of a dragon-horse or Chinese unicorn. The concept became popular in Chinese Buddhism, subsequently spreading to other parts of Asia including, Japan, Korea, Tibet, Thailand, Burma, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Cambodia, Laos and Singapore.

May the force be with you! By the way, which side do you choose? Well, it seems very clear from this homeowner's mailbox design that they choose the "Dark Side." How is this known? The mailbox is in the shape of a AT-AT walker, an all terrain armed four-legged transport and combat vehicle used by the Imperial Ground Forces (a.k.a The Dark Side) in the movie, Star Wars. Interestingly, this massive 65 foot machine in the movie was used more for psychological warfare.
