feng shui nyc: Exploring Fort Washington Park in NYC with Feng Shui Consultant Laura Cerrano - 05/03/19 05:03 AM
I was in New York City for a Feng Shui Consultation and before heading over, I decided to visit the Fort Washington Park, located along the world famous Hudson River. A few things that intrigued me to explore. First, it was an absolute beautiful day outside. Second, I needed a break from all the urban energy. And third, I heard about a "Little Red Light House" that was built directly underneath the George Washington Bridge. And so, my journey began!

feng shui nyc: Exploring Manhattan NY: MoMa - 12/31/18 06:38 AM
You could consider this a part two to my previous blog post: Brooklyn New York Hidden Gem - Barbès. As shared, on December 30th, 2018, I took a tour of the boroughs in NYC and made specific stops in Manhattan and Brooklyn. This post focuses on my visit to Moma
It's been a year or so since I've returned to MoMa and this was a much needed treat! New exhibits that really caught my attention included Bruce Nauman: Disappearing Acts and Charles White: A Retrospective. The photo you see as the featured image is an installation from the Bruce Nauman's installation. And as for Charles White, I purposely didn't post any photos because … (4 comments)

feng shui nyc: Exploring Long Island NY: Caleb Smith State Park Preserve - 05/05/18 01:18 PM
Today was "I love my park day." I made sure to allow time for participation to help clean up and enhance New York’s parks and historic sites and bring visibility to the entire park system and its needs.
For those unfamiliar with  Caleb Smith State Park Preserve, it's nestled in the heart of Smithtown. It's one of only two state nature preserves on Long Island. Within its 543 acres are a variety of habitats offering guests picturesque views that change with the seasons. Caleb Smith is a passive use park. This not only helps protect the local plant and wildlife populations but also allows … (4 comments)

feng shui nyc: Feng Shui Manhattan Customer Review - 11/28/17 05:08 PM
It's always great to hear from customers and check in with them to see how they are progressing. Kathy shares a unique observation with her behavior, mindset and emotions after implementing the feng shui changes to her home.

"The most interesting aspect of the journey for me was that, once our home felt more supportive and comforting, my perspective change to approach life and people a little differently. Idotn' sweat the small stuff, let a lot roll off my shoulder, and I feel like I have more to give to others both physically and emotionally. I think the Feng Shui process goes deeper than we realize." - Kathy Sager

feng shui nyc: Is Having Plants In Your Bedroom 'Bad' Feng Shui? - 10/19/16 03:35 AM

Question: I am in the process of Feng Shui-ing my NYC apartment and I read putting plants in the bedroom is bad. Then In a video, I hear plants are good Feng Shui. What would you suggest?

The answer to this is, yes and no. How so? Looking to the scientific facts about plants, in the evening time most plants give off carbon dioxide. That is not ideal when we are sleeping. Being sure your bedroom is set up for optimal rejuvenation and healing is essential.

The exception for plant lovers out there is, if you have a … (5 comments)

feng shui nyc: Take Time To Honor Yourself - 10/08/16 03:18 AM
How many of us take a moment or even a day or so just to honor ourselves? This is a lesson I am in the process of learning. Since taking over my mother's company, "Feng Shui Long Island, Inc,' full time in 2010, it's been non-stop with setting up meetings for new projects, PR work, marketing, providing workshops, classes, and private consultations, while also writing a book on Feng Shui.
My lesson within this past month has been about slowing down and getting into a rhythm that does not overwhelm myself. I have begun to pace my work days with a more structured schedule for certian activies … (9 comments)

feng shui nyc: Loving Central Park In New York City During The Summer Time - 07/31/16 05:06 AM

In between a NYC feng shui consultation from Tribeca to Madison Ave, I stopped off in Central Park to enjoy lunch and take in some fun people watching time. Next to me, I was serenaded by two guitar players and enjoyed just being present and taking in a few moments of stillness from the hustle and bustle energy of New York City.

feng shui nyc: NYC Subways Could Still Offer A Pleasant Commute - 06/19/16 12:38 AM

I was checking out the Hearst Building in NYC after providing a Feng Shui walking tour and decided to take the subway near by back to Penn Station. I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised with what I saw and smelled. That right, even the smell counts. NYC subways system's are known for their funk (especially in the summer time).
This subway descent was enjoyable because I was greeted with the aroma of food and colorful walls, floors and even artwork along the ceiling. The lighting was also a great enhancer for the energy flow. It would be great to see all the subway systems have this type of presentation for commuters.
Besides that, the New … (2 comments)
