The Form School in Feng Shui, Take a look at a Home in Oyster Bay Long Island New York

There has always been something interesting and intriguing about the Form school and the several of the Feng Shui we incorporate with our Feng Shui Clients.  Some of the methods in the Form school include backing your self up in life, addressing your fame area.  the form school favors using water in the front to bring in the new energy.

If you think about these principles in Feng Shui they make a lot of sense. One of our favorite methods … (14 comments)

feng shui oyster bay: What's a New York Feng Shui Consultant to DO? - 03/15/09 04:54 PM
Oyster Bay Long Island New York--No More Feng Shui?
There is always so much to see and do in the lovely town of Oyster Bay Long Island and I spend a great deal of time there.  I often write about it and show pictures of my favorite places.
That ended today.  Despite the cold temperatures, Laura and I decided to stop for a breath of fresh air on our way back from a Feng Shui Consultation.  One of our favorite places is The Planting Fields, a historic site in Oyster Bay New York.
In New York if you want to visit … (26 comments)

feng shui oyster bay: A Feng Shui Consultant in Oyster Bay Long Island - 03/10/09 04:18 PM
A Feng Shui Consultant in Oyster Bay Long Island
Sometimes I believe Long Island has Feng Shuied itself.  Just a tiny glimpse of the wonderful Spring that we've all been waiting for came on a day that was predicted to break a record and hit 60 degrees.  The weather men were off a bit.  Long Island hit 70!
I don't believe ANYONE stayed home.  Laura and I decided to head up North to the lovely town of Oyster Bay.  It was time to reconnect with Nature, spend time OUTSIDE after a very long winter.  As you can see in the photos, … (23 comments)

feng shui oyster bay: Return to Plagarism--And an Amazing "COINCIDENCE" in Huntington Long Island by Feng Shui Long Island New York - 09/09/08 12:49 PM
I absolutely believe in SPONTENAITY!  I DO NOT, however, believe in "Coincidences."  I know I wouldn't "come across" some of the wonderful finds if I wasn't spontaneous.  As a Feng Shui Consultant in Long Island and New York City, I am often able after a Feng Shui consultation to enjoy MORE of the day in whatever area I happen to find myself in.  I have passed this quality on to my daughter and fellow Feng Shui Consultant Laura Cerrano--in short, we work well together and "play" well together!
After a Feng Shui Consultation on Sunday in the gorgeous town of Huntington Harbor … (34 comments)

feng shui oyster bay: Feng Shui HEALTH--A Feng Shui New York Consultants Views - 09/08/08 02:02 AM
Feng Shui and Health Issues:  As a Feng Shui Consultant and Teacher, I have written about what I consider to be things to watch out for in Feng Shui that relate to health--which I am ALWAYS mindful of.  I have written about Leaks as they relate to Feng Shui, Ceiling Fans (which most of my clients do NOT want to part with), some staircases depending on the placement and the way they were built....and BEAMS.
Some of these have what is called in Feng Shui "Cutting Chi" or "Cutting Sha" which literally means they are dangerous points to stay away from … (23 comments)

feng shui oyster bay: Feng Shui in Oyster Bay-Long Island by Feng Shui Long Island & New York City - 07/22/08 03:02 PM
Long Island Houses SPEAK in Feng Shui
As a Feng Shui Consultant on Long Island and New York City, I recently was called to a client's home in the lovely Long Island town of Oyster Bay New York.  I am called to work there often-and I play there as well!  A New York Consultant's Choice for Reconnecting with Nature by Feng Shui Long Island & New York City
This particular Feng Shui Client had not revealed much information to me over the phone, although I had asked.  She just said she had an interest in Feng Shui and wanted a … (20 comments)

Feng Shui and Children: A New York Feng Shui Consultant's Thoughts
For many years I have noticed the sensitivity of children in all things related to Feng Shui.  They are particularly aware of their surroundings and instinctively know what colors soothe them.  For years I have advised my Feng Shui Clients on Long Island and in Manhattan to allow children to choose their own paint colors (within reason, of course) and to give them a hand in decorating...with a Feng Shui point of view in mind.
Children are extremely sensitive and often can see, hear and mostly FEEL things that we … (19 comments)

feng shui oyster bay: Feng Shui Predecessor Energy: IMPRINTS! by Feng Shui Long Island and New York City - 06/24/08 02:01 PM
As a Feng Shui Consultant in New York City and Long Island, I am often called to homes, apartments and businesses when someone is moving in or just prior.  This is the ideal time to go as I can help them with furniture placement, colors, and one of the most important things of all, erasing Predecessor Energy from a space so they can start off fresh.
Previous occupants can leave behind their own IMPRINT of their energies; some are sad, angry....or there has been a foreclosure.  Even when you purchase from  those that leave under good circumstances such as "moving … (24 comments)

feng shui oyster bay: A New York Feng Shui Consultant in Beautiful Oyster Bay by Feng Shui Long Island & Manhattan - 05/21/08 02:53 PM
A little Feng Shui in gorgeous Oyster Bay.
New York has it's share of beautiful places and there is nothing quite like the "Gold Coast" of Long Island in New York. The estates there are stunning as is the land.  Many sit right on the water and the views are spectacular.  Acres of the beautiful land have been preserved as The Planting Fields Arboretum and it's a spectacular place to visit, wander the grounds and for a Feng Shui Consultant, to reconnect with nature and some of the most spectacular flowers that bloom all Spring and Summer.
That was my idea … (23 comments)

feng shui oyster bay: Feng Shui A New York City Apartment--Working with Small Spaces by Feng Shui Long Island - 01/24/08 02:06 PM
Feng Shui A New York City Apartment (Manhattan Feng Shui)
I love the challenge of recreating a room...or an office...or a corporation.  But employing Feng Shui Principles into a very small space can be a challenge at times.  We don't want to ask our clients to spend much money, we seek to work with what they have and redesign a room that way.
Some New York City Apartments are large and there is plenty of space while others consist of just ONE room.  In this particular case of working with my client (who graciously allowed me to share her photos with you), we … (38 comments)

feng shui oyster bay: The Chinese New Year, Pt 2--Make it Count! by Feng Shui Long Island - 01/22/08 10:43 AM
Yes, there ARE more things to do for the New Year.  I know, believe me, you don't want to hear it (and I don't blame you) but it's especially important this year and I'll tell you why.
This is the year of the RAT.  It is the FIRST in the twelve cycles of the zodiac that make up Chinese Astrology.  Because it is the first, this is a year of plentiful opportunities and prospects for anyone, no matter what sign you are!  That's some great news for all of us.
It is a wonderful year for starting new projects and making long term investments. So even … (31 comments)

feng shui oyster bay: Just ONE Feng Shui Picture--That Speaks :) by Feng Shui Long Island - 12/27/07 06:17 AM
Whoever said one picture is worth a thousand words was surely speaking of this one; from a Feng Shui Consultants point of view.  I've seen this particular corner before but they appear to just keep adding more signs.
Ok, you don't have to know much about Feng Shui to see what's wrong with this picture---as a matter of fact, you probably don't have to know ANYTHING about Feng Shui to see what's wrong. This picture is near an intersection on a busy road on Long Island. We speak often of making someone feel welcomed into our "space" and making them feel warm and invited.
Let's not forget … (38 comments)

feng shui oyster bay: Feng Shui the TEEN Years? Or Run for the Hills? by Feng Shui Long Island - 12/20/07 12:49 PM
Ah, those TEEN years we had.  Remember how much FUN they were?  Not a care in the world.  Then one day we grew up-and our beautiful little "darlings" became TEENAGERS themselves.  Things certainly turned around, now THEY were the ones who knew everything.  We were suddenly OLD and not only that, we didn't know a thing.
I got the nicest compliments from my children-wonderful sayings like "Get with it, Mom" or "You just don't GET IT."  I DON'T GET IT??  During these years, my daughter stayed pretty stable (having already caught on that she wasn't going to win) but I noticed my … (30 comments)

feng shui oyster bay: There IS a Santa Claus--And He Came to Farmingdale, Long Island! by Feng Shui Long Island - 12/17/07 02:44 PM
Santa makes a visit to every street in the Village of Farmingdale, Long Island, every single year.  I have been here 30 years and he hasn't missed a one.  I've missed a few but I know he's been here, there are Candy Canes left for us!  He must know I have a sweet tooth!
This year I heard the fire engines off in a distance. And they kept going.  I was actually starting to get alarmed, thinking it might be a fire when I remembered it MUST be Santa.  The bells got louder and louder and I went in search of the … (30 comments)

feng shui oyster bay: Pet Friendly Feng Shui? Nonsense. Or IS it?? by Feng Shui Long Island - 12/15/07 03:15 PM
Pet Friendly Feng Shui?  Are we going too far?
Years ago some consultants started speaking of an environment that their PETS are comfortable in.  While some thought the idea was ridiculous, I had to think that to me, my pets are part of my FAMILY.  They're my other children I have running around and I'd spend hours looking for just the right bed or treats I knew they would really like.  So what is wrong with trying to harmonize THEIR world?
I've had many pets through the years as I was the one always bringing home they stray I'd find wandering around or … (26 comments)

feng shui oyster bay: Living, Learning and Embracing The DAO by Feng Shui Long Island - 12/12/07 07:46 AM
Do The Dao
Sounds like a dance, doesn't it?  I am sure some of you are well familiar with it but others may not be.  And you no longer have to believe a Feng Shui consultant from Long Island, you can now get the best of this information from Dr. Wayne Dyer who has just released his newest book, "Change your Thoughts, Change your Life-Living in the Wisdom of The Tao."  Who cares?  Well, I can't speak for other places but can tell you here on Long Island the calls I receive more often are for pre purchase clients from other countries. They … (23 comments)

feng shui oyster bay: What Does Barry Manilow have to do with Real Estate?? - 12/11/07 11:49 AM
Absolutely nothing to be honest.  He does, however, have something to do with Activerain, but I'll get to that in a minute.  I was fortunate enough to be able to see him in concert just a few days ago at the Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, Long Island.  For anyone that reads my posts they probably know I LOVE music.  I go to as many concerts as I can.
I have been going to concerts since I turned 13 and never "outgrew" them if there is such a thing.  I love ALL music and everything from the oldies to today's songs.  There … (30 comments)

feng shui oyster bay: Negative Places, Negative SPACES.....A Multi-Part Post by Feng Shui Long Island - 12/10/07 09:30 AM
Negative Places:
Years ago, long before "The Secret" came out there was a book I picked up called ‘You Can't Afford the Luxury of a Negative Thought' by Peter McWilliams and John Roger.  It made an impression on me then because I believed it; it makes sense.  More and more people believe it now because they've heard more about the toll, emotional and physical, that your emotions and energy can take on your body.
Several years ago while working with my Energy Healer I was reminded again but with more emphasis.  EVERY SINGLE THING we read, hear about or watch can take on toll on … (29 comments)

feng shui oyster bay: If you can STRETCH, You can FLY!! by Feng Shui Long Island - 12/05/07 11:06 AM
It started last January and I remember it distinctly.  I was doing some work on the computer and the phone rang.  It was just after 2pm.  The person on the other end explained they were thinking of a project that involved Feng Shui and proceeded to explain a little about it.  He asked me many questions such as what methods I used, if I were Certified, and about verifiable references.  "It will take a long time," he said, "are you up to it?"  It was like nothing I've ever done before.  I heard myself saying "Of course!" and wondering what I … (30 comments)

feng shui oyster bay: Go Ahead--Change Someone's Day Today, I DARE You! by Feng Shui Long Island - 12/04/07 11:28 AM
It has always been said that it is the little things in life.  It's not a day we remember when we think back fondly on something; it is a moment in time.  A kind gesture by someone, a hearty laugh, a hug at the end of a day.  Many of us wake up with the thoughts and conviction to make this a beautiful day for ourselves.  Some of us "pre-plan" our days ahead of time to help ensure things will go well and have the best outcomes every day.  Some of us just count our blessings when our feet hit the … (37 comments)
