Feng Shui Real Estate House Hunting for Your New Home with Laura Cerrano

Spring is upon us which usually means change, for the better of course.  For some that change may come in the form of moving into or seeking a new home.  If that is the case, before purchasing you may want to review a few Feng Shui Tips for House Hunting before saying YES! to your new home.
Location, Location, Location
It's important to understand the history of the home or apartment you are looking into.  This is very important because it gives you insight into the homes … (4 comments)

feng shui real estate: The SHAME of Foreclosures --- Feng Shui in Long Island NY and some HOPE - 07/09/09 08:16 AM
The SHAME if Foreclosures --- Feng Shui in New York
As a Feng Shui Consultant in Long Island New York when I first began hearing about foreclosures, they seemed so far away.  They were in another place and for some reason, I never thought they'd hit Long Island.
After all, Long Island is a very desired place to live; it's where the rich and famous come to "play" after a long winter.  It's where we struggle to pay unsightly taxes just to stay on this lovely Island with all the benefits of being close to New York City.
Foreclosures hit...and hit … (19 comments)

feng shui real estate: Feng Shui and Real Estate: What about FORECLOSURES? - 03/04/09 01:23 PM
New York Feng Shui and Real Estate:  What about Foreclosures?
I received this email the other day from a person and thought I'd share it.  Please NOTE:  The opinions here are only MY OWN.  I do know that many Feng Shui Consultants advise AGAINST purchasing Foreclosures.  I have a different perspective.
Hi,I have a question I was hoping you would answer.  My husband and I would like to buy a home that is a foreclosure.  I've read that in Feng Shui you should not purchase these homes because they would carry bad energy and you would be unlucky in them.Is this … (26 comments)

feng shui real estate: Why My Clients WOULDN'T Work with a Real Estate Agent! - 12/20/08 12:07 PM
Why my Client WOULDN'T work with a Real Estate Agent!
Realtors:  What SIGNALS are YOU Giving Off?
I had a Feng Shui Consultation a few days ago in Melville Long Island New York.  Interestingly enough, I had seen this house when it went on the market-back in the Spring.  My initial reaction was that this house would NEVER sell without some serious attention to Curb Appeal.
In the Spring I saw a small sign go up:  For Sale by Owner and a phone number.  It was almost obstructed by the debris in the front yard.  I wondered what they were thinking, putting … (44 comments)

feng shui real estate: What I LOVE about MY Profession: Feng Shui - 10/20/08 11:54 AM
What I LOVE about being a Feng Shui Consultant in New York
I was tagged not long ago by the lovely Julie Neerings Julie Neerings~Lifting Hearts ♥ Building Dreams~Utah REALTOR®   to write about what I LOVE about my profession.  From Home Staging to Home Inspection to Real Estate Agents to Feng Shui Consultants I believe we ALL have a love (and in my case a bit of a fascination) with HOMES-and care very much about the PEOPLE who live in them.
Having realized through working in Wholistic Health that not only the Energy of your BODY but the Energy of your surroundings … (30 comments)

feng shui real estate: MORE Feng Shui--And some Interesting Finds by Feng Shui Long Island - 02/25/08 02:27 PM
I was not at all surprised; somehow, to hear that they had actually put Feng Shui to use in Mac Donald's in California.  If you didn't catch the story, you might want to read about it here:  Click here: Calif. McDonald's Tries Feng Shui Theme: Financial News - Yahoo! Finance
Slowly, VERY slowly, Feng Shui is becoming more and more popular.  And I have always believed it would finally "catch on," I just hoped I wouldn't be too old when it did!  Catching on so much that traditionally "mainstream" places are beginning to realize the public's interest in it-and figure they'd better … (30 comments)

feng shui real estate: Realtors and Feng Shui Consultants: The Common Denominators by Feng Shui Long Island - 11/25/07 12:07 PM
Although I have worked with Real Estate Agents for a long time for helping to sell a home, we seemed to be on different wavelengths.  Of course our common purpose was to help a client's home sell but I believed we were "coming from different places."  I couldn't have been more wrong.
When I signed onto Activerain I felt the same way.  The funny thing is, the longer I am on the site and the more I read about Realtors has shown me we are much more alike then I ever would have believed. So, what ARE the common denominators between Feng Shui … (27 comments)

feng shui real estate: Let's Talk About Predecessor Energy: A Feng Shui Post from Feng Shui Long Island - 10/06/07 07:53 PM
For years I have been reading a wonderful website called http://www.hauntedrealestate.com/for further information on the way "hauntings" have been handled by others. I have had to drag myself off that site and little did I know that one day I would be graced to be able to "meet" the person who had put it together, Mary Pope-Handy!  Her recent post A Halloween and Ghostly MeMe (thanks Mike Mueller!)  inspired this post.  In my profession it is NOT unusual to be called to a client's new home or for a pre-purchase "inspection" to see if the home suits them from a Feng Shui Perspective. As … (30 comments)

feng shui real estate: There's nothing Nicer then these Emails: In Feng Shui AND REAL ESTATE! - 06/28/07 06:40 PM
There IS nothing nicer then getting a call or email from anyone you are working with to thank you and let you know that what you did helped them.  It's even nicer when it's from an Activerain Realtorwho had found me and contacted me about Feng Shui.  I am not going to reveal who this person is, that would be entirely up to them but I did get a contact from Activerain from someone who had stumbled on one of my posts on Feng Shui and we spoke on the phone.
She had already taken Suzee Miller's online course on Feng Shui … (9 comments)

feng shui real estate: "Should I Buy this House?" New Hyde Park, Long Island-- Questions a Feng Shui Consultant gets ALL the Time...And some difficult decisions - 06/20/07 11:05 AM
I receive many emails from people asking questions and am happy to answer them.  Last night I received an email from someone I do not know, inquiring about the purchase of a home in New Hyde Park, Long Island, New York.  He has been reading about Feng Shui and believes very much in Vastu, the Indian equivalent to Feng Shui and was worried about the home, although he had submitted an offer on it.
The property of the home is not "squared" off, rather it is in a triangle shape.  Meaning, to many consultants, that it would "cut out" both his … (12 comments)

feng shui real estate: Ok, Let's try ONE simple Feng Shui Cure---for keeping MONEY - 05/03/07 04:23 PM
As mentioned in previous posts, the bathroom in Feng Shui is considered the WORST room in the house.  Why?  It has drains and many consultants see your money as being "flushed away"by all the drain energy.  Particulary if they are located in your WEALTH area.  Prospective buyers who LOVED a home have been persuaded not to buy one if there is a bathroom located there.
(As an aside, to find your WEALTH area in the home, stand at your front door.  Go to the Back Left Hand Corner of your home and check to see what's going on there.  Is there a … (23 comments)

feng shui real estate: Feng Shui 101---Let's start at the beginning! The basics of Feng Shui - 05/02/07 05:17 PM

It finally struck me that THIS should have been my very first Blog.  I receive an ever increasing number of emails about Feng Shui, I don't think I ever provided the basics for anyone!   While many of you on here know what Feng Shui is (and isn't), I have found there are at least as many misconceptions of it, what it is and why we do it. Not to mention why you would find a Feng Shui Consultant on a site for Real Estate!  We are in homes all the time.  I get an ever increasing number of personal emails with questions and thought … (12 comments)
