feng shui: 5 Ba-gua Map Life Sections Not to Be Ignored When Feng Shui-ing Your Home
- 06/20/17 09:10 AM
Feng Shui is estimated to be around 5,000 years old. It’s a lifestyle practice that provides environmental healing for the body, mind and spirit by harmonizing your home and office. The Ba-gua map is one of many tools utilized to help identify strengths and weaknesses within those given spaces. It also provides the opportunity to illuminate insights into the conscious and sub-conscious minds of those occupants as the home and work environments become metaphors of one's life. The Ba-gua map is a grid of nine life section which can be laid upon an entire floor plan or single room. By doing

feng shui: Feng Shui Cave-Dwellers: Is This How Feng Shui Began?
- 06/16/17 11:22 AM
As I am conducting research for my Feng Shui book, I have been coming across some really interesting Feng Shui tidbits. In this case I went back to the most basic question, Where did Feng Shui first originate from? It's important to note, exact historical records for when Chinese Feng Shui was officially established is still a bit murky. Based on research published in 2006 by Hong-Key Yoon, an associate professor at the University of Auckland in New Zealand, he theorized the first Geomancers were cave-dwellers in the Loess Plateau of China’s north in search of ideal cave sites to call

feng shui: Feng Shui and Design Psychology
- 06/06/17 04:47 PM
As I was conducting research for my Feng Shui book I came across various articles on 'Design Psychology,' a UCLA Architecture/Interior Design program. In short, Design Psychology conducts interviews to understand the environmental history (clients' mental and emotional connection) of that given space. Based on the clients' responses the Design Physiologist chooses certain colors, lighting, textures and arrangement of the space to assist in balancing the emotions and well-being of those occupants. Sound familiar? Feng Shui is the same (environmental healing for the body, mind and spirit), using the 5 elements theory (fire, earth, metal, water and wood) which make up human physical and emotional

feng shui: Address Internal Corners of Your Apartment to Create Stronger Energy Flow
- 05/18/17 05:06 AM
A really easy to do Feng Shui change is making sure the corners inside your apartment are not empty. Why is that important? Any time you see corners that have nothing in them in, it's believed the energy flowing into that area becomes 'stuck.' To help give you a visual, think of water flowing down a gentle stream and then becoming entrapped in a whirlpool movement alongside the bank of the stream. To help avoid that scenario, adding a plant or a collection of smaller plants (2-3) in the empty corner of your apartment can help the chi' (energy) to keep moving. Of

feng shui: Mercury Retrograde: How to Deal With Unsettling Energy
- 05/11/17 05:00 AM
In the words of Comedian George Carlin, "SLOW DOWN!" That's right. Retrograde is about allowing yourself adequate time to step back and reflect vs making hasty decisions or assumptions which could be financially and emotionally costly. Mercury Retrograde is known to hiccup communication, scheduling, transportation and encourage more judgement than compassion. Release the need for control. Pause, breathe and think before you speak. Be very clear with your communication. Do not take things so personally. Be sure to leave extra time for travel. Be sure to confirm appointment, dates, plans and meetings. Double check emails before they are sent, let that be for

feng shui: Let Go Of Expectations when Feng Shui-ing your Home and Life
- 04/20/17 10:25 AM
Let go of expectations! This may sound counter intuitive yet there is truth to the statement. Of course set your intentions and take the necessary actions to assist in nurturing them. While at the same time releasing your hold on specific outcomes. Here is a quick story about a New York client named, Larry whom I worked with in 2012. One of his main intentions was deciding whether to stay in a relationship or not. He implemented the suggested Feng Shui changes into his apartment and about a month later shared he decided to break up with his girlfriend. What?? HOLD ON....What type of

feng shui: The Law of Least Effort
- 04/09/17 01:19 PM
How often do we as humans strive for perfection, force our efforts or even perspectives onto others. Take a cue from nature as she moves at her own rhythm. Letting go of worry and assumption based thoughts that peer too far into the future allows your mind to rest. Give yourself permission to step back and enjoy life. This is one of the keys to manifesting an overall positive balanced lifestyle. I personally find more abundance is attracted to me when I am not seeking it out forcefully and just allow.
