feng shui: A Feng Shui Consultant in Central Park, New York by Feng Shui Long Island - 02/18/08 11:45 AM
Growing up on Long Island, my parents very rarely went into New York City; I can remember them taking me to Radio City Music Hall and The Old Ed Sullivan Theatre-and that's about all.  It wasn't until I was 17 and dating someone who lived in Queens that I got "introduced" to the City.
When I wrote my last post about Central Park I was able to give you the history of the Park and how it came to be including the contest to design it, the architects and landscapers and when it officially opened.  Back to Nature--Central Park in New York City! … (30 comments)

feng shui: Feng Shui a Long Island Business: CURVES in Westbury by Feng Shui Long Island - 02/07/08 02:13 PM
Feng Shui seen through the eyes of a Feng Shui Consultant.
This past Sunday I did a Feng Shui Consultation for Curves on Post Avenue in Westbury, Long Island, New York. I’d heard of it, it’s an exercise franchise but I didn’t realize the principles behind Curves and what has made it so successful. I was called because the new owner felt that business had dropped off and wanted to create better Energy in her space.
The only sign allowed to be used at the present with the entrance in the back door.  We reversed the Bagua.  The picture on the right shows … (32 comments)

feng shui: Feng Shui New York City Studio: Working in VERY Small Spaces by Feng Shui Long Island - 02/04/08 10:53 AM
There are many things we could look at from a negative perspective in Feng Shui.  Or we can use INTENTION and some Western Methods to help correct our spaces.  What to do when a client does not want to put ANY money into a space?  We do the best we can and work with it.
These particular clients lived in the beautiful part of New York City called Tudor City.  If you did not see the pictures of this lovely Historical part of New York, you can take a look here:
My clients, a husband and wife, had recently left a 4 bedroom, … (28 comments)

feng shui: Realtors and Feng Shui Consultants: The Common Denominators by Feng Shui Long Island - 11/25/07 12:07 PM
Although I have worked with Real Estate Agents for a long time for helping to sell a home, we seemed to be on different wavelengths.  Of course our common purpose was to help a client's home sell but I believed we were "coming from different places."  I couldn't have been more wrong.
When I signed onto Activerain I felt the same way.  The funny thing is, the longer I am on the site and the more I read about Realtors has shown me we are much more alike then I ever would have believed. So, what ARE the common denominators between Feng Shui … (27 comments)

feng shui: Digging, Ecavating....UNEARTHING -- Things I needed to Learn (A Feng Shui Perspective) - 09/27/07 02:27 AM
I never cease to be amazed at how profound our surroundings effect us or what they can cause.  I knew when these problems surfaced in my house, some ENERGY was being stirred up,  just didn't realize the extent of it.  After five full weeks of intense and deep digging to level the ground I was curious to see what would eventually SURFACE.  I somehow thought all the good things would come to light but I realized something important that I should have already known:  You need to fully let go of the OLD in order to bring in the NEW.
Actually, I should have suspected … (18 comments)

feng shui: "CLUTTERBUGS" -- A Feng Shui Perspective on HOW to Lighten Up and WHY... - 09/08/07 03:38 PM
While I have touched on the subject of CLUTTER in many of my posts, this one is devoted strictly to the subject.  In reading so much about it the last few days and especially Jo-Anne Smith's heartfelt post: Mr. Tumnus and His Cave.   I want to address some specific issues that many clients have.
By the definition Feng Shui Consultants typically use, CLUTTER is something you DON'T NEED, USE OR LOVE.  Jo loves everythingand I can see why!  Why is clutter the number one principle in Feng Shui?  After all, being surrounded by precious things gives us comfort.  But when we already … (21 comments)

feng shui: I'm Locked in a TIME MACHINE: Back to the PAST--- - 08/31/07 10:32 AM
I have been putting this post off because I have SO many lovely pictures and it would take forever to show them...while I have left a ton out, I'm going to let the pictures tell the story and may put it into several parts so I can show you the best of them (and you don't get bored).Just before my daughter returned to college, we were looking for something to do one day.  We were both tired and wanted something that would be a short trip and wouldn't take much time.  I thought about Old Bethpage Village Restoration on Long Island … (13 comments)

feng shui: A Promise That Should NEVER have been made...... - 08/27/07 02:41 PM
Long ago during my Feng Shui Classes and through all the years after, I have NEVER promised a client we can create exactly what they want to come about from a Feng Shui Consultation.  We CAN promise to change the Energy but nothing more.  Clients without a thorough understanding of what Feng Shui entails should investigate more prior to booking a consultation and I always recommend they look for someone who is Certified (many people aren't aware anyone can read a book on Feng Shui and call themselves a Feng Shui Consultant).  I have also seen lately that people "stretch" the … (11 comments)

feng shui: And Now for Something COMPLETELY DIFFERENT..... - 08/26/07 03:20 AM
Well, it's not that different but it's not Feng Shui. Well, not exactly. But it IS about your ENERGY.  I have mentioned in previous posts that I use an Energy Healer and wondered if any of you use alternative types of medicine?  Yes, I do see doctors when I have to, of course, but my experience in the field of alternative methods of healing have helped so many people including curing "incurable" cases of cancer and run the gamut through all types of healing for almost anything you may have that is causing dis-ease.
Some of the methods I am familiar with do not … (11 comments)

feng shui: Earth Angels---How Many have YOU run across?? - 08/23/07 03:50 PM
How many "Earth Angels"  have you come across?  You know, those wonderful people that seem to come out of nowhere when you're lost, stuck or just need some help.  They are disguised as all kinds of "people" but I never end up thinking of them that way when all is said and done; to me they are Earth Angels who will be remembered by you long after they've forgotten all about what they did for you.
I wanted to share a little more of my trip and to tell you about one particular Earth Angel that I came across; this one was … (20 comments)

feng shui: Same Trip, Two Different Experiences: The SECRET is Alive and Well! - 08/22/07 04:11 AM
Expectations:  We all have them.  Sometimes they are a good thing, we have some wonderful outcome to look forward to but often we forget that our expectations of a circumstance may not be what we wanted; they may be something to teach us a lesson, outcomes change, things are different and some people are very intolerant of change (which, in my opinion, is one SURE thing you can count on).
My "Expectations" of my trip were to see some wonderful sights, meet some terrific people, experience things I would not have had an opportunity to.  I was looking forward to nothing but … (17 comments)

feng shui: Are We Dreaming Dreams? Or are "Dreams" Just Reality Waiting to Happen?? - 08/19/07 03:31 PM
All through the years I have referred to my "vision" of my DREAM vacation---Paris.  I myself am confused why I thought of it as such an impossibility that I referred to it as a dream.  A dream is just a thought and Paris to me was much more than that, it was a REALITY WAITING TO HAPPEN.  Anytime you put that much focus and energy into something you want, somehow it will materialize.
I just read and had heard Lizettes amazing post about her VISION of that car she wanted, her energy, passion and making room for it in her life and … (17 comments)

feng shui: The Feng Shui ATTACK: It can hit you like a ton of bricks! Mine are in Farmingdale, Long Island - 07/31/07 01:47 AM
We all have them and later wonder what got into us?  It can happen at any time of the day or night and it's one of those moments where you just can't STAND your house anymore.  Your "To Do" list that day goes out the window as you bend down to pick up something on the floor that you've been meaning to put in the garbage for a week; anything can trigger it but once it takes hold of you, there's no stopping it.

feng shui: The "REAL" Scoop on Feng Shui: (Let's Get Personal Now) By: Feng Shui Long Island - 07/29/07 03:27 PM
The scope of Feng Shui is so far reaching, I wonder how many people realize it yet. Sometimes all it entails is difficult for ME to absorb.  We know it's about Energy Flow, furniture placement, color choices, directions, objects we can use, different methods and schools and hundreds of topics and principles.  Years ago in school the first thing we heard every morning was the word "Mindfulness."  And to never forget that Feng Shui brings out the TRUTH.
Feng Shui starts with YOU and your lifestyle.  If you want to get back what you put out, make sure you are putting … (13 comments)

feng shui: The House That Feng Shui Built -- Lovely Woodbury, Long Island, New York - 07/26/07 02:40 PM
If someone with this couple's profession and aspirations on what they would like to create had called me in to assist them in a new construction, I don't believe I could have done a better job then what I found in this beautiful home in Woodbury, Long Island.  They had not, in fact, called anyone in, the couple designed it themselves.
A bit about these wonderful clients and why they called.  They had bought this home from the original homeowner (who had moved up in the world) and not long after they purchased it, a storm devastated much of the home.  … (6 comments)

feng shui: A Very REAL Feng Shui Challange in Syosset, Long Island, New York - 07/22/07 07:18 PM

I am showing some pictures on this post that some of you have probably run into at one time or another.  Please note:  I am NOT showing them to have any disparaging comments made about these clients, but rather just to let you realize that oftentimes people don't realize what they are living with.  They have become so used to clutter and as it builds, they don't even realize it.  Things then start to happen in their life that are not good aspects and they don't understand why.  I come across this more often then you might think and my job here … (29 comments)

feng shui: Feng Shui Synchronicity at Work---Back to Northport, Long Island - 07/19/07 02:51 PM
I should be used to these types of things by now, that is if you can ever really GET used to them.  They happen often enough in my life and still astound me.  A recent blog post and the things that have happened in just the last few days make me always remember that something much more powerful then ourselves are at work at times.  This is one of those times.
A recent blog I posted Scared Away with Feng Shui? How I "lost" my client in Northport, Long Island New York was about the fact that I hadn't heard from this … (19 comments)

feng shui: The Shrine-- a Beautiful Visit in Riverhead, Long Island, New York - 07/17/07 04:17 PM
A while back I posted some pretty pictures from inside the beautiful Monestary of Professor Lin Yin in Old Westbury, Long Island, New York.  It is one way of life and living, following beliefs and respecting eachother.  A Peek inside a Monastery: A respectful way of life in Old Westbury, Long Island, New York Long Island also has a lovely Shrine in Riverhead, where many people go to pray and respect a different belief.  I'm often suprised that many people aren't aware of it while others flock there for it's peacefulness.
I stopped to visit there recently after a Feng Shui Consultation in Riverhead … (16 comments)

feng shui: Scared Away with Feng Shui? How I "lost" my client in Northport, Long Island New York - 07/14/07 05:05 PM
This is right in Val Allocco's beautiful home town, Northport, Long Island and the Feng Shui that scared my client. I will call her Linda.  I didn't know Linda prior to meeting her, but I did know OF her.  We both belong to a common group and have a few friends in common.  Still, I was surprised that she called for a consultation (and WISH I had taken pictures that day).
First of all, I love Northport.  I am almost never there but if you'd like to hear a bit about it, Val recently put up a post A Perfect Summer Daythat … (11 comments)

feng shui: FUN Feng Shui in New York City: What ELSE does a Feng Shui Consultant do? - 07/11/07 03:44 PM
You all know by now I love my "job" AND I love New York City.  Perfect combination for me!  Coming out of a consultation one day on the Upper East Side, I decided to walk back to Penn Station for my train home and thought of getting a "dirty dog" along the way  --  Hot Dogs from the carts in New York are called Dirty Dogs, I believe because the water they are in gets so dirty :)  But then you never know what you're going to run into.  I didn't get home until the evening because as I was walking, … (18 comments)
