feng shui: Respecting the Environment is Respecting Yourself: The War on Climate Change
- 03/28/17 05:44 AM
The new White House administration is making a strong hold to curb the Climate Action Plan launched in 2013. There is clear scientific and medical data that defines negative impacts to the human body and mind when living in an unhealthy environment. I was curious to see what else I could learn in regard to the affects of pollution and in particular coal mining since that is the key concept being discussed. The possible positives of bringing coal mining back could help increase jobs for those in the coaling industry. Let's say that happens. Then we need to ask is there even a high demand for coal? I turned to Bloomberg.com for that answer and

feng shui: How To Feng Shui the Kitchen Stove
- 03/16/17 05:23 AM
The kitchen is one of the most important rooms in your home and in the past used to be a place where family and even community gathered. This tip is from Black Sect Esoteric Buddhism, developed by His Holiness, the late Grandmaster Professor Thomas Lin Yun. He transformed ancient Buddhism and Chinese philosophies to be adapted to the modern life and to address modern issues and challenges. Take a look at your stove and keep these key questions in mind: 1. Is it working properly? 2. Is it clean? 3. Do you use it to cook or is it just there because

feng shui: Easy Feng Shui Front Door Cure
- 03/14/17 06:19 AM
Here are two easy ideas in how to activate your front entrance with Feng Shui. Locate your actual formal front door and hang a single bell or 2-3 bells from a red ribbon cut at 9 inches. Why 9? 9 is a divine number and used in just about all Feng Shui cures. Attached the bell or bells on the red ribbon to the inside of your front door. The intention is to 'ring in' (activate) more positive energy, good fortune and abundance in all areas of your life. At the same time this cure also offers protection for your home and those

feng shui: Motivational Monday: Surrender
- 01/30/17 06:45 PM
When I was first introduced to the word and concept of "surrender," I'll be honest I thought it was a sign of weakness. Having experienced certain events in my life that required me to surrender (and still do) in order to resolve life's challenges at times, I have a newfound perspective about "surrender." It's very powerful and freeing when you choose to stop fighting with yourself and others. The worst conflicts tend to happen internally and unfortunately if not addressed, could spill out into the world. Below is the universal prayer my teacher Pierre recited with our emotional intelligence class and I

feng shui: Roads To Be Traveled - Get Outside Your Comfort Zone
- 01/29/17 06:10 AM
It feels unfamiliar and a bit risky, yet you are still intrigued by the thought of it. What am I referring to? Getting outside your comfort zone. We tend to get comfortable with the familiar and our routines, which regulates happiness, low anxiety and reduces stress. If you choose to remain in that cycle with no spontaneity or risk you may generate stagnation and stunted growth mentally, emotionally, spirituality and even physically. What are the benefits of getting outside your comfort zone? You'll be more productive. You'll have an easier time dealing with new and unexpected changes You'll find it easier to push your boundaries in the future You'll find

feng shui: Why Do People Even Bother to Protest?
- 01/23/17 06:15 AM
The Women's March took place on January 21st, 2017. This has been recorded as the world's largest protest, with 5 million worldwide participating. That is pretty amazing. I have to admit I was unsure of what the Women's March represented when I first got word of it. From the gist of what I read on social media and the obvious title, I understood it referred to "Women's Rights." Then I started to read other comments from those who opposed the March, "stop complaining," "get over it," "you people are a bunch of whiners" and many other unsettling conversations. So it got me thinking, why not ask people face to face

feng shui: "Go With the Flow"- What Does That Even Mean?
- 01/15/17 06:25 PM
The best way I can illustrate my understating of this common saying is though words of my mother, Carole Provenzale. She said, think of "going with the flow" as planting seeds (ideas). After planting your seeds and knowing you have done everything possible in your power (taking action) to help them grow, and eventually the seeds that are ready to be harvest will crop up. I could not comprehend what she was talking about until about 4 years ago. I began to understand "Going with the flow" requires patience, creative thinking and taking action as needed while also being keen on knowing when to step back and not

feng shui: Transition
- 01/07/17 03:46 PM
Transitioning from the desert landscape of Death Valley, soaring above the clouds and finally landing in the snowy wonderland of New York. It has been some trip and now I call New York home for a month before heading back out to Los Angeles for work again in February. It boggles my mind how fast time moves. Each moment is so precious, do not take it for granted.

feng shui: Feng Shui Tip: Become Comfortable With Death
- 01/03/17 02:05 PM
Ironically, Feng Shui promotes death on a constant basis though the use of positive language. "Create new beginnings," let go of the past," "change your environment," "transform who you are," etc. In order to welcome in new opportunities and energy, there must be an ending or in other words, a death. Discussing death from a Feng Shui perspective views certain stages throughout your life as having opportunities to change patterns of behaviors and thoughts that no longer serve your best and highest interest. How death is metaphorically and/or spiritually translated will vary from person to person. In the world of Feng Shui, with each "death" in your life,

feng shui: Feng Shui for Men and Women Who Do Not Want to Use Pink in the Bedroom
- 12/27/16 08:27 AM
I am working with a client from Santa Monica, CA who is in the process of Feng Shui-ing his bedroom. It's usually suggested to use pink in the bedroom because it associates with the energy of "partnership." It's important to note my client's bedroom is also located in the wealth section of his home. This creates a double connection between partnership and wealth. Using the suggested accent colors to address wealth was no problem, but using pink to acknowledge partnership did not fit his aesthetics. Taking this into consideration we came up with flexible remedies. Accent colors of purples, greens, golds, silvers (metallics

feng shui: Today is a Special Day of Remembrance - December 17th Carole Provenzale
- 12/17/16 07:27 PM
What a special day for our family and the birth of Feng Shui Manhattan (also known as "Feng Shui Long Island"). My mother, Carole Provenzale, was born on this day of December 17th, 1954. Without her presence on earth many things would not have come to fruition. Such as with my brother and I being adopted from Colombia, Carole being the first in the family to study Feng Shui and become certified, along with establishing the company, formally known as "Feng Shui Long Island," back in 1997. She was also the Feng Shui consultant to the very first 100% Feng Shui-ied hospitality

feng shui: It's Been One Year Since We Met and Nothing Has Changed
- 12/16/16 09:16 AM
I recently followed up with client who I first met in 2015. The first few sentences out of his mouth dealt with the concern of how everyone who has come into his life to help him, has made things worse. In other words, he was constantly blaming others for everything going wrong in his life. From the time we meet in 2015, to the updated on site consultation of last week, it was clear only three changes were implemented out of 20 suggestions. Plain and simple, this is not good. Living the lifestyle of Feng Shui creates an agreement to welcome change into your life for the better and to

Besides enhancing the area of Health in your home, you also need to improve the physical and neurological functions of your body and mind. Below are three quick tips to help exercise your brain for better function. 1. Learn a new language. Even the act of learning is very beneficial. Practice and have fun while doing so. 2.
