long island ny: Watchful Tree Spirits - 10/08/16 03:27 AM
Do you notice anything interesting about the tree behind the rock?

This is a small grave yard in my neighborhood that is home to the Van Cott's, who once occupied this region of Long Island, NY. I have to admit, the first time I really observed the bark of this particular tree my immediate thought was, ’this tree is watching me!'

It reminds me of a 'watchful eye.'
What do you think?

It is believed in certain cultures of today and of past that each tree, flower and plant are said to host a particular type of spirit. This belief goes as far back as to the … (4 comments)

To check out festivals, crafts fairs and carnivals all around Long Island NY, visit EventsLongIsland.com. One of my favorite things to do during the fall season is to go pumpkin and apple picking, shop locally at farm stand, taste fresh apple cider and eat fresh corn on the cob. YUM!

I have lived on Long Island for 30 plus years and never knew about the Sagikos Manor home until this past Father's Day.
I have to say, this was a pleasant surprise and if you love history, this is a great location to check out. For about $3 - $6 you receive a one hour tour with guides who dress the part and share fascinating facts and stories about those who once occupied this home, including General George Washington.
Beside touring the inside of the 1967 home, you could also explore the garden. The Sagikos Manor Historical Society is in the process of restoring this once blooming garden of roses, vegetables … (7 comments)

long island ny: Long Beach New York Sunrise - 05/29/16 08:47 AM

Summer time is here on Long Island NY. Driving over the small bridge that connects you back to the center of Long Island, I could not resist pulling over to capture this amazing view of the sunrise. I believe the time was near 5:45am. Honestly, this photo does not even capture the amount of beautiful warm colors that accompanied the rising sun. Just amazing and so tranquil.

long island ny: Soccer On Long Island NY - The New York Cosmos - 04/01/16 09:52 PM

The New York Cosmos began to play in 1971, spending 14 seasons in the North American Soccer League, winning five Soccer Bowl trophies, and bringing some of the biggest names in world soccer to the USA. This included Pelé, Franz Beckenbauer, Giorgio Chinaglia and Carlos Alberto.
It had been nearly 30 years since the Cosmos, an iconic global soccer club, played in a professional league. Yet throughout their absence, the club maintained a loyal and dedicated fan following. On Aug. 3, 2013, the New York Cosmos returned to the NASL with a sell-out win at Hofstra University’s Shuart Stadium, before embarking … (4 comments)

Westbury New York Alternative and Metaphysical Store: Botanica La Luz & Gift Shop

New York City is full of "alternative" and metaphysical stores scattered through out, especially near the village and Union Square regions of the city. I am happy to share, Westbury NY now offers Long Islander's the opportunity to experience and shop at a metaphysical store as well, and one that is not all the way on the North Shore.
This location offers incense, candles, oils, books, Tarot Card readings, religious statues for healing inspired from India, China, Tibet to Native American, Catholic and Jewish beliefs. It's a store that is neutral for all who walk through the … (1 comments)

long island ny: Shifting Your Perspective About How To Attract Wealth - 06/23/15 12:12 AM
Shifting Your Perspective About How To Attract Wealth
One of the biggest requests in topics of discussion clients ask to address when implementing Feng Shui into their home and life is wealth.
What about wealth are you looking to enhance? I will ask. "more money," is 99% of the response I receive.
More money? What does that mean to you? More money to pay bills? To travel, to invest in your business, for your children, perhaps wealth in connection to others for meaningful relationships, what? Many will pause and then say, I never thought of in that way. Essentially when we talk about "wealth" it's … (7 comments)

A section on the Ba-gua map in Feng shui is called, "knowledge," also known as self cultivation and spirituality.
