Letting go of Depression with Feng Shui by Manhattan Feng Shui

It's disturbing to hear the biggest rising clientele for anti depressants is children, let that be children who are in Preschool.  This is sad, shocking and should be a huge wake up call to everyone. It should also make us wonder, do we give up to easily to help one another or are we just looking for a fast solution?  Which time and time proves it creates more problems. Children by nature are "pure" energy in the sense of not really being exposed or cluttered to … (5 comments)

Motivational Monday: A Poem to reflect upon posted by Manhattan Feng Shui
I walk down the Street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk
I fall in
I am lost...I am hopeless.
It isn't my fault.
I takes forever to find a way out.

I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I pretend I don't see it.
I fall in again.
I cant believe I'm in the same place.
But it isn't my fault.
It still takes a long time to get out.

The idea of "Feng Shui" has been around for centuries, originating in the Eastern part of the world.  Around the 60's and 70's, the concepts and beliefs started to make it's way over the the West Coast of the US. Finally, around the 1990's Feng Shui progressed to New York City and Long Island NY.

Speechless Sunday Standing Strong by Feng Shui Long Island NY consultant

This is an iconic tree that has been located on the out skirts of New Paltz for years.  It's survived many of the elements including server flooding that has uprooted tremendous trees in the past.  But, not this one.  It continues to stand strong.  The element of "wood" in Feng Shui is represented by plants, flowers, and trees.  It is symbolic of us being firmly rooted and grounded in life.

manhattan feng shui: Follow Your Own Heart---Wherever it May Lead - 08/07/09 12:19 PM
Someone special gave me a plaque not long ago; a plaque with a quote on it.

I wondered if they bought it for me because they felt that’s what I’d done or because they loved the quote.  I keep it right in front of me and every day I see it and hope that someday it fits me.  Who I was and what I wanted to accomplish.

Even in New York, Feng Shui was not well known at ALL in 1996. I still have many people who ask me what it is.  I remember people thinking it had to … (19 comments)

Feng Shui Consultant - And Beings of LIGHT
Feng Shui in New York
As many of you may know, my daughter, Laura Cerrano is also a Feng Shui Consultant practicing primarily in Manhattan and New Paltz.  She sent me this picture, taken on Election night with a small Cannon Digital Camera.
It was shot right on the New Paltz campus when those who supported President Elect Obama went out to celebrate.  She had told me the Energy was intense that evening; some people were crying, some cheering and some just watching in awe at the scene.

What I LOVE about being a Feng Shui Consultant in New York
I was tagged not long ago by the lovely Julie Neerings Julie Neerings~Lifting Hearts ♥ Building Dreams~Utah REALTOR®   to write about what I LOVE about my profession.  From Home Staging to Home Inspection to Real Estate Agents to Feng Shui Consultants I believe we ALL have a love (and in my case a bit of a fascination) with HOMES-and care very much about the PEOPLE who live in them.
Having realized through working in Wholistic Health that not only the Energy of your BODY but the Energy of your surroundings … (30 comments)

Feng Shui in New York--With a Side of Inspiration.
What an exciting journey life can be!  We were taught so many things growing up, to be polite, to respect others, to go to school and get good grades.  We weren't taught some very important things, probably because they are only learned through the school of "hard knocks."  I must have been absent that day but life lessons and challenges presented themselves and through the years I've learned how to (hopefully) best deal with this wonderful life gift we have been given.
Try some Feng Shui Inspiration on "those" days:

A New York Feng Shui Consultant AND a Roving Reporter
Feng Shui in Manhattan.  Feng Shui on Long Island.  THIS is what I do and have been doing for well over a decade.  But lately I have noticed something else...I HAVE BEEN TURNING IN TO THE ROVING REPORTER!
It's not MY fault.....Blame it on Activerain!!  Having signed on so long ago after being on other blog sites, I discovered AR.  I was on EBlogger, Ezines, Selfgrowth and many other online publications.  And as a Feng Shui Consultant I was ONLY writing about Feng Shui.
Activerain changed all that.  I believe it … (24 comments)

manhattan feng shui: Feng Shui HEALTH--A Feng Shui New York Consultants Views - 09/08/08 02:02 AM
Feng Shui and Health Issues:  As a Feng Shui Consultant and Teacher, I have written about what I consider to be things to watch out for in Feng Shui that relate to health--which I am ALWAYS mindful of.  I have written about Leaks as they relate to Feng Shui, Ceiling Fans (which most of my clients do NOT want to part with), some staircases depending on the placement and the way they were built....and BEAMS.
Some of these have what is called in Feng Shui "Cutting Chi" or "Cutting Sha" which literally means they are dangerous points to stay away from … (23 comments)

As a Feng Shui Consultant who is often in New York City - Manhattan - giving a Feng Shui Consultation, I often come across things I never would have seen.  For example, walking back to Penn Station from a Feng Shui Consultation in Midtown Manhattan, I came across a small park....devoted to Katharine Hepburn (more pictures in an upcoming post).  No matter how long you live here or how often you visit New York City, there are always things you miss.

What Does a Manhattan Feng Shui Consultant have to do with the Olympics? Authored by Carole Provenzale Feng Shui Long Island and New York

More then I would have expected, actually.  I watched as history was made the other day with Michael Phelps thrilling victory at the Olympics.  It was a thrilling moment for just about everyone watching, making the United States proud.  I am almost glued to the TV overnight watching these tremendous atletes compete from all over the World.
One of my Feng Shui Consultations right here in New York actually gave me a sneak peak into the … (22 comments)

manhattan feng shui: The Feng Shui Verdict: Mets or Yankees? by Feng Shui Long Island & New York City - 07/09/08 11:47 AM
You would think, if they were going to build new stadiums for both the Mets and Yankees they would have called in a Feng Shui consultant BEFOREHAND.  Not the case.  The New York Post decided to write a story from a Feng Shui Consultant on the two stadiums and which one would be more likely to do better.
Yankee Stadium, called "The House that Ruth Built" was originally built in 1923.  It was the first three tiered sports facility in the U.S.  Interestingly enough, it's very first performer was also Billy Joel, who is now giving "The final play at Shea."  … (18 comments)

manhattan feng shui: A New York Consultant's Choice for Reconnecting with Nature by Feng Shui Long Island & New York City - 06/15/08 06:23 AM
Where does a New York Feng Shui Consultant go to reconnect with Nature?  Since I am often in New York City, I must say I love Central Park.  The energies of the Park change constantly from place to place; some parts have music blaring and lots of activity to the quieter parts of the park where people are just enjoying all the beautiful scenery.
When I am on Long Island, one of my favorite places is The Planting Fields Arboretum in Oyster Bay, New York.  It is a quieter energy here, the scenery and historic buildings are beautiful and you find … (21 comments)

manhattan feng shui: A New York City Feng Shui Consultant's Slippery Slide to 200,000 Points - 06/10/08 03:43 PM
Having passed the 200,000 point mark about 10,000 points ago, I simply did not know what to write for this post.  A milestone for me---and a surprise as well.  When I signed onto Activerain in October, 2006, I didn't have a clue what I was getting in to; just another site (or so I thought) for business.  And Activerain has definitely helped my business, what I never expected was the real and valued friendships and encouragement that I have not found anywhere else.
I didn't even have time to start posting until March of '07 and I had joined the Stagers … (45 comments)

manhattan feng shui: A New York Feng Shui Consultant's Thoughts...by Feng Shui Long Island & New York City - 06/01/08 12:00 PM
It is that time of year again here in New York, both on Long Island and in New York City.  The time of year when graduations take place.  This year many new Feng Shui Consultants will be graduating and starting a new career....which sent my memory way, WAY back.
Feng Shui is so popular in New York it's not surprising that so many people are taking the classes.  Just like Real Estate Agents, Home Stagers or anyone else involved in one way or another with Real Estate, most new graduates, if not all, are making a HUGE commitment...to their clients and themselves. … (21 comments)

manhattan feng shui: Feng Shui In a New York City (Manhattan) Apartment by Feng Shui Long Island & New York - 05/23/08 02:25 AM
Feng Shui in Manhattan
I have been doing Feng Shui Consultations for so long now, it's rare for me to get "stuck" on what needs to be done.  I can usually spot what's wrong almost immediately, I have no problems choosing paint colors (along with my client's tastes) and I redesign some spaces that look beautiful when they're done.
I had an appointment last week to help choose color choices and Feng Shui for a New York City Apartment.....Nothing unusual about that.  As with all clients, I sat down first to speak to my client to see what she was hoping … (15 comments)
