Exploring New York City During The Holidays
The streets of New York City are always bustling. When the holidays roll around, it becomes even more busy. There is so much to see and experience so please try and give yourself the opportunity to travel in and explore.
Over the weekend I had the chance to check out the MET in NYC and view some amazing pieces of artwork.
In stead of taking the subway there, we decided to walk inside Central Park and take in the beautiful views.
The city if filled with dazzling displays, especially along 5th Avenue. This photo is of the Time … (5 comments)

new york city: You Never Know What You Will Experience When in New York City - 12/03/14 09:46 PM
You never know what you will experience when visiting New York City. The night started innocently enough with a train ride in and a walk towards Rockefeller Center.
On my way, my father called and asks, "Where are you?" I said, "I am in the city to see the tree lighting with some friends." His voice became a bit tense and he responded to me, " be careful, the verdict  about Eric Garner's case came out and people are not happy."
I honestly had no idea that took place yesterday evening before he called because I do not watch the News.  I said, " relax dad, all is … (15 comments)

Explore Manchester Vermont with Miss Feng Shui of New York City

We had the pleasure of visiting Vermont this fall. The timing to see peak season of changing leafs was missed just a bit, yet non the less, it was a great visit.
During the fast trip, we were able to taste some fresh home cooked turkey chilly, hike wonderful mountain ranges, enjoy fresh clean air, meet and greet with very friendly residents, taste delicious Vermont maple syrup and pancakes and traditional New England plates of food.
I wanted to also highlight the location we stayed at called The Equinox.
This location was a great choice … (7 comments)

Allowing Yourself a Moment within Your Day of Rejuvenation

This week has been extremely busy with productivity, activity, client and networking meetings, as many of us expreince. Before heading to my lecture venue I was texting a close friend on the trainride sharing my thoughts with her about how I needed a break, a moment to breath.
Well that opportunity presented it self because my lecture venue was literally across the street from central park. I took advantage of this moment. I bought a bottle of water, walked over the to grass, found a spot, took off my shoes and shocks and layed … (12 comments)

Does Feng Shui Deal with Paranormal Activity?
Yesterday I presented a lecture at the New York Athletics Club in Manhattan. Before presenting I had the pleasure of speaking with 2 attendees one on one. Both began to inquire about Feng Shui and paranormal activity. They asked, Does Feng Shui Deal with Paranormal Activity.
Feng Shui pulls from Bon Buddhist principles in Tibet which understands the various spiritual realms and dimensions on Earth and in the Universe.
We Feng Shui consultants do at times have to humbly work with spiritual energy in the sense of helping them be released from that particular location. Our job is to help them continue on their path and … (3 comments)

Exploring New York City at Night

metlife building
Yesterday was some day, busy, busy, go, go, go. Many times I will have clients say, I never have time to just be, to just enjoy-I’m always too busy.
You have the choice to make time and take one or two moments. I decided instead of riding the subway I would treat myself to a mini walking tour yesterday evening. My day started at around 35th street for a workshop and than making my way to 56th street for meditation class. Here are some photos I took in along the … (5 comments)

Even our New York City Birds Are Stressing Out

You know the energy needs adjusting when animals begin to show signs of stress and anxiety.
I read an article in the New York Times not too long ago that discussed why new York city birds wake up so much earlier then their rural counterparts.  According to the articles study, it stated that urban birds are stressed out to the max due to space crowding and possible ambient noise within their environment.
Now translate that to human beings. New York city really is the city that never sleeps yet … (11 comments)

Have you Been Nourishing Your Inner Child Lately?

One way to help let go of stress and relive yourself from those pesky blockages is to nourish that inner child of yours.
Let's be honest, how many of us do this? Let that be to go outside and play or in other words do things that we find fun and bring joy to our lives; in a healthy way.

Surveying people in general, I'd say most seem pretty stressed out at times. In fact New York City has been recognized for being one of the rudest and I believe most stressed out city in America … (8 comments)

new york city: In Feng Shui, What are the Best Colors Suggested for the Bedroom? - 04/14/14 07:40 AM
In Feng Shui, What are the Best Colors Suggested for the Bedroom?
There are so many references when offering insights and suggestions for bedroom colors so what I suggest to try and keep things simple is look towards the elemental suggestion.
In the bedroom, the element of choice is earth, why? Earth relates to grounding one's energy and offers powerful healing components.

How can you visually represent Earth in the bedroom? One is with color, which could be earth tone based, beige's, creme colors, perhaps even sage or earth blues or greys. Let that be on the wall, rug, comforter, artwork, etc. The key idea … (1 comments)

Explore New York City's Central Park-The Great Lawn

This photo does not capture the amount of people who were really at the park...
It was a perfect Sunday yesterday to get out and enjoy the company of all, meet and greet new folks and simply enjoy the weather that I believe touched around 70 degrees...awesome.
New Yorkers become so calm and happy when Spring comes about, finally after such a cold Winter man will retreat back to common meeting grounds in Central park, The Great Lawn being the biggest of them all.
Families, couples and friends come to this mid point in central … (3 comments)

"Any Moment can be Something"

Garry Winogrand Photo 1928-1984
When visiting Washington DC I stopped off at the National Gallery of Art and saw a fascinating Photography exhibit by Garry Winogrand. His subject matter was all about capturing events and people in the moment. Many would say his particular focus being on women.
As he progressed with his craft he began to purposely crop out key note information so the what, who, where, when and why was completely distorted leaving more questions then answers.
Many of his photos took place in Coney Island Brooklyn, New York City, Queens and the Bronx.  A quote that really captured my attention … (6 comments)

The ABC of It: Why Children's Books Matter
Explore New York City
there is always something to do in New York City, all you have to do is look and explore.  After a Feng Shui consultation, I decided to "kick around" and wondered into the New York Public Library.  I really never stepped foot in this particular library and all I have to say, I feel in love.

"The ABC of It draws on collections across the Library to present the literature for children and teens against a sweeping backdrop of history, the arts, popular culture, and technological change. The books and … (3 comments)

In Feng Shui the focus on "chi" or a core energy source between, in, and around all things, people, even objects and colors can determine the effectiveness of an environment. It is this energy that binds us together with each other and it connects all things. Like the quote says, you are not seperated from, but a part of it all. It is key to be aware of the actions we take in our lives and the energy we carry to everything we do and the … (2 comments)

Heaven Energy According to Feng Shui

According to Feng Shui there are several types of energy sources that impact us daily. It's not just the re-arranging for furniture and paint colors ;)
Heaven energy encompasses the air, weather, sky, stars and other heavenly bodies. New York City I love you, but your air needs help! Our bodies need fresh breathable air and some have even reported their energy level increase when breathing quality air.
Energy of the sky and atmosphere includes climatic influences that affect humans and other life forms.  Cosmic energy pulls from the universe which includes the sun, … (12 comments)

September 17th Occupy Wall Street will be Holding Rallies in NYC...

We are all witnesses to the lies and mis-leading information provided by top officials who are supposed to be protecting our rights. Here is another truth that is coming to the surface.
1. A "free trade" agreement that would set rules on non-trade matters such as food safety, internet freedom, medicine costs, financial regulation, and the environment.    2. A binding international governance system that would require the United States, Australia, Brunei, Canada, Chile, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore, Vietnam, and any other country that signs on to conform their domestic policies to … (0 comments)

Have you heard the News? "The poor will use a separate door under plans for a new Upper West Side luxury tower — where affordable housing will be segregated from ritzy waterfront condos despite being in the same building." -New york post
Segregated: "set apart from the rest or from each other; isolate or divide."
By buidling 55 low-income units for this development, Extell is seeking millions in air rights and tax breaks. In order to achieve that, the developers are "sequesting the cash-poor … (2 comments)
