Visiting Los Angeles, CA? If so, and you happen to be visiting around the first Tuesday of the month you can check out La Brea Tar Pits and Museum for FREE! It's a small museum, yet it offers a rich history of the surrounding area of which just about all the skeletons on display have been excavated.
In fact, even today you can see excavations happening, which is pretty amazing.
