The media, and truthfully parts of our industry, are busy painting a picture of a market recovery. Are
things better than they were just two short years ago? Yes, at least in our Southern California location, they truly are!
Better but not perfect – not by a long shot. There are still soft spots. Loans are still a challenge. There are market segments that simply won’t budge and most of all there is no irrational buyer exuberance going on!

sales statistics: Palm Desert CA Sales Statistics - 08/11/14 02:27 AM
PALM DESERT California is experiencing a reduction in inventory and a rise in median sales price. Currently there are only  247 homes for sale in all price ranges.   Median listing price is Over $780,000 since 35 of the total homes for sale top the million dollar mark!  In June and July of 2014 we saw a whopping 13 properties close over one million dollars.

Consumers could be forgiven if they take what they hear in the media at large and decide that Real Estate is dead in the water right now. However, that is not a reality that is sustainable with the real numbers in my marketplace.
In my market in Southern Californinas' Inland Empire - Riverside County - we have seen nothing but solid numbers for almost a year now. sales statistics: Palm Springs Area Sales Figures - 01/20/11 01:22 PM
The Palm Springs CA area  experienced a fairly nice little lift to finish off the year. December 2010 reversed the slight inventory increase we had in November. Total properties for sale fell to 7,415 a drop of 285.  While 837 properties went under contract - this was an increase over November. Sales activity in the 7 major cities of the Coachella Valley had 739 homes sold - an increase of 81 units over November 2010  and our very best month since June 2010. Other important statistics show the fewest number of new listings coming on of any month in 2010 - just 1,184 new listings.  … (0 comments)
