centreville realtor: Reston, Va bulletin Board - 03/02/11 01:40 AM
Hi All,
My 8th grade final geography/history project was on Reston, Va. a "planned community" in 1971. I still remember doing the research with Jackie Fox and Mike Harkness! We went to the new community center and took a tour of the new town and spent 2 days hearing proposals and seeing future plans. Almost 40 years later so much of what was than a vision is today a reality. One of the very 1st self contained planned communities, Reston is now a viverant community where you can live, work, and play all within a square mile. It's a tremendous place … (0 comments)

centreville realtor: Centreville, Va great place to raise a family!!! - 02/22/11 09:54 AM
Hi All,
Not long ago when I would head back to college from Vienna west to Interstate 81, you'd head straight out Interstate 66 west. The only problem was, I66 ended just 14 miles away in the sleepy crossroads town of Gainesville, Va. Gainesville is where I66, Rt29, Rt15, Rt55 and Rt17 all interconnect. My favorite trip would be to take Rt29 southwest through Warrenton, pickup Rt211 through Luray and on to I81. Gainesville was always our coffee and donut stop.
Gainesville has come a long way from those sleepy 1970's days. Gainesville and the surrounding area have become one of the fastest growing hubs in all … (0 comments)

centreville realtor: Warrenton, Va Info Board - 02/19/11 02:00 AM
Hi All,
Back in the late '70's when I headed to College in the Shenandoah Valley, my favorite stop was in Warrenton, Va. Back than a sleepy little town 40 miles west of Washington, DC, It was a great stop for a Spamoni's Pizza or a Mama Johnson's apple pie! Interstate 66 ended in Gainesville and you'd have to get off and continue west on Route 29. 29 would split in Warrenton into Route 211 and on to the mountains you would go. Through Luray and New Market and catch Interstate 81 on your way south.
Warrenton has grown like most Washington suburbs into a … (0 comments)

centreville realtor: Vienna, Va my home town - 02/14/11 09:39 AM
Hi All,
Another great Northern Virginia Town. We moved to Vienna in 1963. Back when Vienna was a small rural town on the outskirts of Washington DC. My 3 brothers and I loved the small town and the freedoms that came with it. It was and still is a great environment to bring up a family. Vienna is now one of the best locations to live in the Country. Rich in diversity and amenities, it has everything a family could want. Location, location, location!

centreville realtor: Selling your Home with Pat Samson's Dare to Compare Team - 02/14/11 09:38 AM
A house is not a home unless it contains food and fire for the mind as well as the body." - Benjamin Franklin. Last week, the housing market received some food and fire for the mind, but not everyone was at home with the news.
First, the good news. The housing market received a serving of good news last week, as New Home Sales reportedly rose 17.5% in December to come in better than expectations. Overall, the report demonstrated that housing continues to recover - albeit slowly. Despite that good news though, the markets were keyed in on another more … (0 comments)
