ct lakefront specialist: The Ultimate Aphrodisiac: Buying a Home? - 02/13/12 11:46 PM
Paging single men and women out there who want a date. CNN just released today a survey stating that women prefer to date men who own a home versus men who rent. And men feel the same way.
"In a survey of 1,000 single people, more than a third of women and 18% of men said they would much rather date a homeowner than a renter." This survey was conducted by Harris Interactive for real estate site Trulia.
It is also interesting but not surprising to know that "both sexes also clearly prefer it when there's no roommate in the picture; 62% … (7 comments)

ct lakefront specialist: State and Municipal Real Estate Conveyance Tax Rates in Connecticut - 02/11/12 09:04 AM
Realtors should give their sellers an idea of what the approximate proceeds from the sale of their property should be as part of their listing presentation because these are the costs that are normally overlooked in their decision making process or in the process as whole. The costs could entail an enormous amount of reduction from the proceeds and this is something we, as professionals, should inform them ahead of time. Who wants unwanted surprise be it small or large amount?

ct lakefront specialist: Have you Lost Your Mojo? - 09/10/11 03:09 AM
Urban Dictionary defines mojo as charm or talent. This word stuck in my grey matter when I saw the the funny movie whose title I could not capture right now.. Ahh. Memory lapse. Time is a passing and so is my age.
In my lingo, I referred to it as the ultimate drive or dynamism. When I started to plunge in the real estate business, I was full of force that nothing seemed to stop me from prospecting expired and for sale by owner listings. I would put together a material with fervent ardor and dropped them off by the prospects' doors. I … (11 comments)

What if we did otherwise. There are countless of "what ifs" but the fact remains that what transpired is past and can't be undone. And crying over spilled milk is like living in the shadows of remnants worth burying in a bottomless pit.
I plead guilty to this act until I come across one of Tod Duncan's moving and … (3 comments)

ct lakefront specialist: Giving Value to What we Have - 08/14/11 11:38 PM
As I look back at the years 2007 and 2008 with extreme disappointment because of the changes and challenges which unfolded after the better times, I hold on to aphorisms and words of wisdom to infuse positive energy in my daily dealings. Here is one that crossed my way.  The source of which is unknown. To quote:
"To realize
the value of a sister/brother,
ask someone
who doesn't have one.
To realize
the value of ten years:
ask a newly
divorced couple.
To realize
the value of four years:
ask a graduate.
To realize
the value of one year:
ask a student who
has failed a final exam.
To realize
the value of nine months:
ask a mother … (3 comments)
