winchester va: Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac Do not Count! . . Really???!!! - 02/28/10 10:27 PM
Apparently when we were planning our budget we left a few things off the list . . . its kind of like showing your college budget to your mom and dad, asking for more cash, but you had left your"Starbucks habit" off the sheet!   Numbers can be presented many different ways, but shouldn't this have been pointed out before now?   This article points out several other "highlights" . . . that you may or may not be aware of.   Enjoy the article over your coffee . . but beware it might end up on your computer screen!!

Are you ready for your off road adventure?

Since the beginning of the summer our office has had the pleasure of enjoying the sights and sounds of the economic stimulus package at our door step!  The road work to improve Cameron Street and turn it into a two way street . . .a long with tearing up every other intersection in OLD TOWN Winchester has proved to be a challenge for morning and evening commutes.   Please take a moment and ENJOY my photo of the CHAOS!   Now if I only had a digital audio recorder . . . .

winchester va: Thankful that I have the opportunity to work! Real Estate for Sale Winchester VA - 09/09/09 02:32 AM

One thing that I'm grateful for every morning ( although I do have to be reminded occasionally) is that I have a career and not a JOB in real estate.   A career is a path set with goals and milestones,  a job is punching the clock and getting a paycheck.   I'm also thankful for the fact that even though things do get tough, I know that if I work a little harder I can keep ends met for my little family.
I agree real estate is definitely not what it was in 2005 when I started working part-time in our shop, BUT … (0 comments)

winchester va: HVCC Petition WHY ARE WE NOT AT 100,000+ Signatures YET??????? - 08/27/09 02:10 AM

I have seen several posts on the rain promoting the petition, but STILL we have not reached our goal of 100,000 signatures.    I urge anyone who is involved in real estate to please take a moment to sign the petition and to help STOP the insanity.
I recently had it take over a WEEK for an appraisal to be ordered because the appraisal manager company could not find an appraiser who would work for the LOW amount they were offering to perform the report!!!
We are already stretching out close times into 45 days with the new lending regulations … (0 comments)

winchester va: The PRICE OF the PIN: Working as a REALTOR in the Shenandoah Valley - 08/04/09 03:11 AM
Daily I subscribe to several financial and industry related blogs.  My current favorite is a video blog www.thinkbigworksmall.com, where two mortgage brokers ( and video marketing entruprenuers)  sarcastically discuss and debate current events and politics affecting our business.   Their topic today compared the National Association of Mortgage Brokers to the National Association of REALTORS.    The major difference?  Our association though costly because of the requirement to join state and local associations to join is effective.  To be honest,  we are basically forced to join all of the associations anyways  to have access to the MLS and access to show properties.   If you want to … (0 comments)

winchester va: Winchester VA Short Sale - 07/27/09 02:45 AM
In today's economy it is easier than ever to fall behind on your mortgage.  If your income has been reduced, and you have a minor emergency . .  plumbing issues,  flat tires, medical bills, sick dog that needs extensive vet care . . . the mortgage money goes for the emergency not the mortgage.   Trying to catch up can be tricky, and when you sit down to crunch the numbers if there is more going out than coming in you may have a serious problem.    Many of our Short Sales are homeowners who are trying to do the right thing.  They … (0 comments)

winchester va: I'm #42452! What's your Number??? Sign now and SAVE YOUR DEALS! - 06/27/09 03:37 AM

This post is for consumers, REALTORS and appraisers alike!   We need to get this petition signed an underway.  If you have not signed it PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE sign it and forward it to every REALTOR you know.    This is critical and it affects the way we are conducting business.  In this tight market we cannot afford to keep ordering second and third appraisals to determine "value", at the expense of our clients!!!    Watch the video, talk about it with co-workers, lets get the word out.   EVERYONE should take a moment and blog about this so that we can reach out and touch … (1 comments)

winchester va: We need to help stop domestic violence! - 06/17/09 03:14 AM
I wanted to take time out this morning to point out two local tragedies that occurred over the weekend.    Please click on the links below for the headlines.  Our small community has been rocked by these murders and its time for us to contact our local representatives and make sure appropriate measures are being taken to give our local law enforcement the training and funding that they need to keep us safe!  I'm posting this to help others contact their local officials.   Thanks and please pass this along to others!.
