Loudoun county housing market went thru a roller coaster and a syndrome now called "Pre-Election Stress Disorder" in October. New construction to resale home in the Eastern Loudoun county cities: Ashburn, Aldie, Leesburg, Sterling, Potomac Falls and Chantilly all had similar syndromes.

A mix HOT summer market trend continued in the early August market of the Northern Virginia Loudoun county area. We had a very stable and strong June/July residential real estate market in the Loudoun county area. Traces of that were reflected in early part of the August month. However, the later August we saw a sluggish and a pause in the marketplace. The July market had average days on the market at 47 days while August was at 49 days. This is still better than the last year summer market where we had a complete stand still market.

As a local Loudoun county Real estate agent while reviewing the statistics of the mid-year to date 2016 real estate market we have a stable housing market.
A typical sluggish start which is expected in the January and February 2016 (Remember winter weather and 3+ feet of snow). The market picked up by April (spring time!) which was reflected by a strong housing market stats in the May and June.

Dear Ritu @Samson Properties -I am planning to sell my home. My home is built in the 80s and we still have wallpaper from that time. Should I remove the wallpaper and paint the walls with a neutral paint? So buyers will look past since the home is from the 80s.
Answer: Hello Mr. & Mrs. Seller in the Northern Virginia area, wallpaper is one of those polarizing things in my opinion.
Personally, I don't believe it keeps a buyer from buying the home. I have sold homes with hideous wallpaper.

Northern Virginia area of Fairfax county has seen a sluggish growth since beginning of January 2016.
Over the past few months, housing market reports have shown a slow and steady growth compared to the neighboring Loudoun county housing market.
May was the strongest month. We finally saw a rise in the sales volume, inventory is still high but a drop in new listing did help to clear inventory and get the homes under contract. Average pricing are still slightly below last year!

Most of the Northern Virginians have not seen a ray of sunshine in past 2 weeks. We are still wrapped up in our jackets and have not put away winter sweaters!! Ya sounds like we are cursed my mother nature or global warming.
