Choosing to become a landlord could be the better financial decision if you have financial security. However, just like any other investment, it comes with a price. In order to determine whether or not you're actually ready to be a landlord, consider asking yourself these questions.
Can you afford to hold onto this property if it remains vacant or major repair issues arise? 
Are you willing to commit to the hassles and your time associated with renting the property?

Its an old English saying but stands so true for this situation. My client who relocated to the Virginia area and decided to rent before they buy for a year. Beginning of the summer they informed the landlord that the A/C unit may need to be serviced since cold air was not blowing. The landlord ignored, after several no response from landlord my folks contacted me. I emailed the landlord agent if he can touch base about the situation. Never heard back from either one of them.
