sales: Shoeless in Silverton in the SNOW! - 01/03/14 06:07 AM
Most people will agree that having shoes is desireable,  this is specially true in cold weather.
We were blessed with a visit from one of our sons and grandsons right after Chistmas.  As it happened, we had work to do in Silverton.  Our son had been there on a previous visit and thought it would be cool to show it to his son.
After a hearty breakfast at  "Oscars" we departed for a beautiful  drive. Some of the most spectacular vistas imaginable are on that stretch of Hwy 550'.  Perfect for entertaining a nine year old!  Entertains older folk … (4 comments)

sales: Wrapping up loose ends and scaling down - 04/05/13 10:14 AM
After the successful contract on our personal home, time began to speed up.  Adding packing and trying to get the remaining inventory in our business sold has caused us to try to make good use of every minute of every day.  We obviously should have been doing that all along!
In addition to getting rid of lots of things we no longer use or need, we have tried to market quickly since our destination is to go out of state.
Yesterday we had a call from a previous client who has a friend in from New York.  We told her we would be … (1 comments)

sales: Interesting Fashion Footwear - 11/10/12 11:46 AM

The foot fashions of today absolutely run the gamut.  From excessive heels to sequined tennis shoes, you can see the extreme of the high-top variety to be considered for finishing up your wardrobe by taking a quick trip through any shopping mall.I have come to the conclusion that no one is too old or young to sparkle.  It is a part of our nature to be attracted to bling. When we came across these high tops today I found myself considering what I might be able to wear something like this with.  Really!  Could I justify the purchase to … (1 comments)

sales: Labeling is..... - 11/06/12 09:13 PM
In my years as a pre school teacher prior to Real Estate,  we were taught that labeling is "disabling."
It is wearing or owning someone's opinion about you. It can be hurtful or it can be empowering.  As in so many cases, it is a choice!
We are in a business where the opinions of others can bring us business or it can prevent customers from giving us a chance.  That is serious!
It becomes part of our job and the who we eventually become,  to be sure we are giving our best everyday .  If you are … (3 comments)

sales: When the Phone Rings - 11/06/12 12:03 PM

One of the best business tools we have is the phone. We spend lots of time putting information out to attract those phone calls!  Here is a genuine opportunity to help someone meet a need.So what is your attitude when you pick up the phone?  There is a good chance that the caller can hear it in your voice.   Think about that.  Most consumers today go to great lengths to get the information they desire without having to talk to a salesperson.By the time you get to talk to the customer, they have already come a long way!  Now you … (5 comments)

sales: The problem with perfection.... - 09/01/12 10:46 AM
Basically I have found that when you are obsessed with doing things perfectly, you don't get much done.
Any task can be redone and turned from ridiculous to sublime.  The time it took to do the redo may have been better spent .
Always put forth your best efforts.  But when you have finished with the project, be willing to accept it and move on.
Achieving Perfection is hardly ever realistically possible.
The flyers we construct as market material must be usable for a variety of media.  We want them to reflect the best the property … (22 comments)
