tupelo real estate: Live in Tupelo, Mississippi. - 11/04/12 01:13 AM
Located in the Northeast corner of the state, Tupelo is an All American City, having achieved the accolade from the National Civic League on three different occasions. No other city or town in America can claim that honor. Tupelo is a regional market center of commerce situated in a minor valley and along side the Natchez Trace

Parkway. The Trace Parkway is a 333-mile drive through exceptional scenery and 10,000 years of North American History.  Use by American Indians, "Kaintucks," settlers, and future presidents, the Old Trace played an important role in American history. Today, visitors can enjoy not only a … (0 comments)

tupelo real estate: Life is Free! Well, Cheaper with Age Anyway. - 02/13/12 03:14 AM
I NOW KNOW WHAT LIES AHEAD!
While commenting on a particular blog in a different forum, I sided with the blogger's own personal dissatisfaction in generating income with something he really loves doing...Blogging.  As I shared my love of earning an income in something I really enjoyed doing (real estate), I realized something about myself. It's not about an idea that just surfaced, but about a hidden desire that has been burning deep within me for a very long time.
The desire for less money? Yes, that's it!
For many years, I only understood the need for more money. It always seemed there was never enough, and when there was, we all … (11 comments)

tupelo real estate: Pay No Attention To The Man Behind the Curtain! - 04/21/11 01:47 AM
Have you ever seen a home languish on the market for many months days, and then notice that it shows up one day as a NEW Listing?. More often these days, agents in our market are re-listing homes after it originally expires to make buyers think the home is a new listing. The stereotype of a home on the market for a very long time can affect a sale, especially in a sellers market but these days, when I see a home on the market for over a year, I don't think much more about it. It is just the way it is.

tupelo real estate: Elvis May Not Be Alive, But Still Attracts! - 04/18/11 03:24 AM
While driving through the neighborhood
where Elvis Presley's birth home sits, I'm always intrigued by the number of Elvis fans who still travel the world just to visit the King's experience. Elvis' birth home was built by his father and is a two room home that beckons tourists that visit from the world over.
Another Busload of tourists visits the Tupelo landmark to visit the home and the Elvis Presely Museum and gift shop where you can by anything "Elvis".
You can even get "hitched" at the elvis chapel.

tupelo real estate: Should You Re-Photo? - 04/13/11 03:14 AM
Ever searched through listings during the late summer and notice all the trees in the photos have no leaves, or that the grass is dormant? Ever notice listings that upon a visit, look nothing like the photos? I visited a home recently that has been on the market for nearly two years and upon entering, I wondered where all the tacky looking wallpaper and the clutter went! The owners over time have apparently progressed through making their home more appealing to potential buyers, but buyers searching online have no clue. No wallpaper, all neutral colors, new windows, decluttered, new flooring and newer appliances. This … (6 comments)

tupelo real estate: Stuck In The Box? Stay There! - 04/02/11 02:36 AM
Although I wrote this article several years ago, it is still applicable today.
Our local business journal, which is a monthly supplement to the local paper, came out this week and the theme or focus was real estate. Among the many articles written, one article clearly stood out as a simple- minded contradiction to reality. The article was a piece about a brokerage firm in our area and dissussed both the history of the firm and their success in the marketplace. Honorable. But....
At a time in our history when our commissions are under attack, this broker's explanation of commission justfication was simply wrong. … (6 comments)

EXiT Realty Premier Tupelo, MS Real Estate Taking on the job of marketing and selling real estate today is both a monumental and risky proposition. tupelo real estate: Active Rain Milestone - 05/12/09 11:02 AM
During this visit to AR I noticed that I was just a mere blog away from achieving a milestone on AR.
 20,000 Points!
I feel like yelling "SCOOOORE"  like a European soccer announcer.  It's a milestone for me anyway.  When I started on AR over 2 years ago, maybe more, I never thought I'd get this far.  I don't get many points for associations...I have hardly any.  I don't get points from other bloggers...nobody I ever introduced to AR ever blogs about anything. I just peck away at AR, one post at a time.  A comment here, a comment there. Some days I might … (6 comments)

tupelo real estate: How Good Credit Can Save You Money - 02/25/09 06:38 AM
Content provided by Tim Tubb of Wells Fargo Mortgage, Tupelo, MS.

We all want good credit so we can get an automobile, credit cards, or purchase a home. But, beyond those types of consumer loans, your credit report can cost you when it comes to your everyday expenses.
Your credit history can keep you from getting utility connections, favorable telephone rates, the highest quality auto, or home owner's insurance, and even keep you from getting a job. A bad credit report can also cause you to pay higher deposits and fees for most common everyday services.
Utility companies usually … (0 comments)

tupelo real estate: Drive-Thru Real Estate....It Can Motivate You but, Will It Ever Work? - 02/25/09 03:21 AM

All The Bad News of recent months and the toughness of this market has caused me to reflect on myself, my business and the past.  When things seem bad, one rarly or can accurately sense that it can get worse, much worse.
To put things in perspective, when things are worse than bad, is it real or perceived?  As "Seemingly" would have it, all the media "hype" does play on the public and entreprenureal psyche and contributes more to the degredation of business, mind and spirit, than bad business itself.
My reflection takes me back a couple of years ago (May '07) when business was starting to decline and the housing bubble started to … (3 comments)

tupelo real estate: Golf Course Living is a No Sale! - 08/29/08 03:43 AM
Can you believe it?  What this market has done for luxury living!  In one of Tupelo's golf course communities, there are homes for sale that just aren't moving. Moving quickly that is.  Homes from $299,000 to $600,000.  Bargains compared to like properties in other parts of the country.  It's not that they are viewed as over priced...just that they are viewed as pricey!  I believe the difference herein lies between affordability, consumer confidence, and perceived risk.
Some lots are elevated, and with a view of the golf course and water, they are some of the most enjoyable views real estate has to offer in … (0 comments)

First I'd like to thank all of you who have called or contacted me about the EXIT Formula (as it is called).  I  appreciate having had the opportunity to discuss and just talk about how EXIT works and how simple it is to succeed in Real Estate with that 3rd income stream.  There are many thousands of agents who are making more money now in RE than they ever did, even in these slower of times.  Also, a special warm welcome to those of you who have put your trust in yourself and Exit, and have joined the EXIT ranks recently.  We are now at 1,325 Offices and over 48,700 agents!  … (1 comments)
