adults: THE CHALLENGE (listen more talk less) TEST
- 03/23/25 11:08 AM
I challenge you to test yourself! Pick a day, any day and decide to make it a day where you practice listening. Not just; not talking, but actual listening to what others are saying. Being attentive, eye contact, giving your full attention to the person and as an option, ask questions for further listening training. YOU will also be grading your own paper too LEND EVERYONE YOUR EAR, NOT YOUR MOUTH I WONT TALK... Listening is a lot harder than you think. Most people's first reaction to wanting or attempting to listen will be to think that they will just silence themselves thus becoming what (12 comments)
adults: CARING & HELP (all of us need-want this)
- 03/14/25 12:37 PM
Caring (kindness & concern) is such an endearing (love & affection) word & humans thrive on this both to receive & gift it. Apply it to a cat & they purr. To a dog when petting, they rollover with satisfaction but to another human? This can heal in ways no one knows. Caring for another & or helping them, goes beyond words & even time as we remember it all our lives. LARGE DOSES This can right all wrongs, change your life, give hope & keep us human just by participating in the process. A juvenile delinquent gets this & it may go (4 comments)
adults: IF WE DID (and did not do) WHAT CONGRESS DOES
- 01/27/19 06:42 AM
When did the idea of letting your inner dysfunction become normal and supportive thus becoming acceptable take place in Congress? If there is error in a person it has to surface so that it can be gotten rid of and not repeated. Think: I once was lost but now I am found. That is the way to becoming a better more productive person. IF CONGRESS IS THE EXAMPLE.... Here we will present a list of products, situations and services that follow the dysfunction of Congress and see if you think they have a future? I don't even like the concept let alone the circumstances but (10 comments)
adults: INNOCENCE OF YOUTH
- 05/01/16 12:05 AM
Who or what is Jimmy Crack Corn (and I don't care)? While you are contemplating that, who is the itsy bitsy spider and how can it live in a water spout? If that is not enough, why does old MacDonald who has a farm say E I E I Oh.. all the time? Then, there is the Alphabet song which is so much fun but means just what? KIDS DON'T ASK None of this matters of course to a little kid who is singing all this. It is called innocence and it is priceless. The thing is, when you start questioning any of this, it is a sign (10 comments)
adults: THE WILD CARD OF LIFE
- 04/17/15 01:30 AM
It's adult people and what is in them. Billions of people no two are alike but similar and all are in different places, times, understandings with their own beliefs traveling in a place no one has visited before and trying to figure out navigation as we all go. Go where? Through life! WHO'S THERE? Why then are we continually amazed, shocked, stunned and thrown off when we meet with each other and find out what is inside folks is not what we were expecting? What is the factor at work here? Is it because we are trying to best each other to get ahead? Or we don't want (7 comments)
adults: GOING TO THE BEACH
- 06/22/14 12:08 AM
I went yesterday and the weather was perfect, the water surprisingly warm, the waves surf-able and the never ending array of people does not disappoint. All ages, families, sizes and shapes, there they were from singles to groups doing what you may ask? It is so simple it bears mention MEDITATION COMES NATURAL First off, everyone is facing the Ocean. There is something about being around water and the effect of it that we all share all over the world. It does calm and sooth. People like to gaze out over the water without being told to do so. When you add (8 comments)
adults: THIS WAS AND STILL IS LOTS OF FUN
- 03/10/14 04:00 AM
Riding a bike. It is inviting to all ages. For the young, it is something they will never forget. That feeling of when you took off on your own perhaps on three wheels and then one day on two is one of the biggies of life. Then, moving to the other end of the scale, when you see this... GRACE ON WHEELS An elderly man or woman riding a bike it is like watching a swan pedal as they go by. They are graceful, deliberate, slow but steady and the little kid once again is the one pushing the pedals. This invention of riding (10 comments)
adults: QUALITY QUANITITY and KEEPING IT SIMPLE
- 05/03/13 11:41 PM
When a person is exposed to deliberately complex issues their whole demeanor changes. The first thing I do is smile and hold back a laugh because I recognize that it doesn't have to be that way and then I look around and see so many dear in the headlight faces and wonder why? Life may be complex but the living of it should remain simple AHHHHH the simple things in life I like experiences where a person doesn't have to summon their intellect to enjoy. Their just being themselves will do and I find it is more fun that way. Children (7 comments)
adults: BEING PHYSICALLY EMOTIONALLY MENTALLY ABUSED
- 04/11/12 05:05 AM
This continues to be a very tough subject for many adults who grew up in dysfunctional family environments. Being a kid is a full time job and while a simple life in its theory, sometimes negative circumstances can make it into something else. I am talking about being abused when growing up and how it effects the course of that child as they approach adult hood WARNING: THIS IS A MATURE POST THAT CAN CAUSE SOME UNPLEASANTNESS FOR SOME First, my own story. My father was a disciplinarian type person who thought hitting and punishing someone was the cure-all for everything. Taking (8 comments)
adults: "PEARLS FOR GIRLS"...REMINDS: YOU WERE GIRLS FIRST and WOMEN ALWAYS
- 06/29/11 11:36 AM
The "PEARLS SERIES" of books which can be reviewed on Amazon.com... continues to work its way into the mainstream of self-help and practical applications catered to the reader in subjects of LOVE and LIFE. Wasn't it Oprah Winfrey that made her career discussing these very subjects? Oprah is a true woman at work who had to get back in touch with her little girl... OPRAH WINFREY DID THE PERSONAL WORK When she did, her life took on new dimensions and it became satisfying for her personally and then the financial and fame rewards followed. She had to heal and re-educate herself (4 comments)
adults: WHY LIFE IS COMPLICATED AT TIMES
- 04/07/11 07:48 AM
It creeps up on you. It is subtle and then it is obvious. It can be shocking and all consuming too. What happened? Did you just meet Rod Serling and enter his Twilight Zone? Nothing that exciting no. What happened could simply be explained as the child in you being replaced by the adult TOO MUCH WORK....IS TOO MUCH WORK You see all work and no play makes you a dull, lifeless person. Having too many choices complicates things and before you know it, instead of being led by your innocence, or the child within you, the adult takes over and unintentionally life (7 comments)
adults: DIRECTION, CORRECTION & SUGGESTION... MAY YOU GET YOUR FILL OF THESE
- 03/11/11 04:38 AM
Direction, correction and suggestion should be sought after and coveted in not just your daily life, but throughout the moments of the day. Think about this for just a moment. Having purpose and something to practice it on defines meaning in ones life. These things support that.
DIRECTION: Children need this as they grow and mature. They need to be nudged, counseled, guided and monitored so that they stay the intended course parents have lay-ed out for them. Some adults would do well to have this too. Employers must feed this daily to their staff to compliment the business plan. (0 comments)
adults: I WANT TO SEE THE KID IN YOU.......please
- 10/14/10 02:56 AM
I am going to submit to you something for your consideration. It is not a big deal but it is worthy of a second look. So often, with all our adult responsibilities, we get caught up in being too serious, too responsible, too willful and too focused on the obvious. What happens is that joy, fun, mystery, and adventure has been left out of our lives. Not just the big picture either. The moment that we are in is affected and carried into the next moment too.. WHEN YOU WAKE UP IN THE MORNING.....school has begun.... THE SCHOOL OF LIFE When (5 comments)
