It all caught up with me. Chomping on ribs, corn on the cob, eating Butterfingers candy bars and beef jerky is all allowed and most pleasant while engaged. I have been doing some of this for years and I highly recommend it. However, I had to pay the piper today on a tooth that I got at least 60 years out of. It is now gone and forgotten and I erected something in its place.. CROWN OF THANKS There is now a crown, a monument to the tooth that was. That tooth and me went through life together. When I was young, innocent and growing up in New York, you go anywhere in your neighborhood and everyone knows everybody. If you go to the local candy store, you get to order cigarettes, ice cream or medicines by saying my mom told me to come here and then you ask for whatever and.... you would get it. A mothers word in Brooklyn, New York is the supreme court. The system worked and could not be abused because the communication between everyone was superior and constant. It was sacred. You see that is what is wrong with the world plain and simple. There isn't enough of the generous joys of the things that make life take on meaning and carefree-ness. Stuff that makes you relax and kid like. I am talking about the little pleasures that give value to the pause in your life while you are indulging yourself. Snow Cones have been around for quite some time. The idea of taking snow and pouring syrup on it must have occurred to people ever since there was maple trees and snow.
