contact: TALKING "at" or "with"? - 09/12/21 05:47 AM
We take for granted when we speak that we are communicating but is it effective? Be mindful of speaking in rote which is mechanical or habitual repeating of something learned. Rote does not give a high rate of return in the intimacy realms. Another watch word? Script! Speaking in a canned response (predictable) which people tend to drown out
RHETORIC
Still another type of speak, rhetorical talk is one talking to themselves and for themselves essentially not including the other person but taking up their time. This triggers a signal to the listener's attention span to activate. Deer in headlights appears or eyes … (6 comments)

contact: AGE OF AVAILABILITY IS UPON US - 06/07/18 09:35 AM
We are well-into the age of being available i.e. instant person to person contact and rapid responding. No voice mail, no putting someone on hold or long wait times will be the norm or will be tolerated or increase but instead decrease. We demand the making instant, in the moment, spontaneous sending and receiving to be the new norm. Tex-ting does this, emails and phoning does this. It will also be of such a high standard that it will judge all performances for this subject
AVAILABLE OR NOT?
In the world of YES or NO,  isn't this what it all comes down to? Who wants a … (9 comments)

contact: THANKS TO not available AGENTS - 03/01/16 12:43 AM
I am speaking of all the agents that don't answer their phones, texts, emails and practice not being available especially when their is high end product that needs to either come or go in the marketplace. These agents get my special thanks for this one very good reason. It makes those that are available and respond quickly shine bright and look good
IS THIS A RECORDING?
How many times have I heard someone react with shock and surprise when they got a hold of  an agent. It is so rare at times that the person calling actually mentions it. How NOT being available got started was probably … (47 comments)

contact: HAVE PRODUCT WILL ANSWER (real estate) - 11/18/15 11:45 PM
Ran Right Realty has a standing policy when it comes to customer service that has been a part of our business planning for decades. It is simply this. If you are MY client, you know the one YOU hired to help YOU transact in Real Estate, I am available to YOU for the duration of our business relationship until done guaranteed

Furthermore if Ran Right Realty has product to sell at any time, then this also falls under our answering the phone and being available until the product is moved or the transaction is consummated. Ran Right Realty understands that is why … (12 comments)

contact: HOW I SEE THE CELL PHONE - 09/16/15 08:16 AM
It liberated me. It released me from the ball and chain of being tied down to specific place. It enabled me to get more done while traveling, take on multiple tasks and always be available. When I have a problem, the phone aides me in solving it right away. When someone else has a problem, who do you think they call?
HELLO...HELLO
I can go to the movies, shopping, take weekend vacations, the beach, hiking, biking and all the rest of it in between my office hours. You see, my office is never closed during office hours plus. What is plus? I will tell … (12 comments)

contact: BEST VIDEO BAR NONE - 04/11/15 12:17 AM
I won't keep you in suspense any longer than it takes to get your attention, allow you to get comfortable and then reveal to you the best type pitch video available which I am sure you would agree. It is simply this: It is the person behind the curtain, live, answering the phone or attending a meeting or appointment
IT'S YOU
No matter how many times one sees a commercial, coming attraction, magazine article or hear a pitch of some sort, it all comes down to finally engaging in the moment, in real life that product or service. That is the point of sale and everything … (6 comments)

contact: BEING KEPT WAITING? - 03/09/15 06:18 AM
Please tell me you like it and don't mind being kept waiting. I want honesty here. When is it okay to keep a consumer, customer or someone interested in your product or service waiting? If that ever becomes the norm, we will all be on a bread or soup line waiting not to starve
BUSINESS IS NOT TO BE DRAWN OUT BUT CONSUMMATED
Business is two or more people coming together for a purpose and it is usually takes place in the moment it is being done. It is not complex. A mutual exchange of values each beneficial to the other takes … (2 comments)

contact: OKAY DONT ANSWER THE PHONE - 02/08/15 10:54 PM
It all comes down to people who do and people who don't and the ones that have a story. When my clients contact me, they get me. That is part of the value. You see because I took being available and made it part of my branding, when someone is introduced to it, they instantly become satisfied.
HELLO THERE
Being there for someone is what any business 101 is about. That is the point of sale, contact and first impression arena that everyone talks so much about. What makes being available so compelling a subject TODAY is the technology that allows this to take place with ease of … (14 comments)

contact: BEWARE OF THESE DYNAMICS - 01/01/15 10:14 PM
Expecting or wanting a targeted result but repeating what didn't work. In the familiar parlance, it is called INSANITY. Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting your results to come in is similar to spinning your wheels and chasing your tail...both of which give the false feeling of movement and change but go no-where
IT'S ALIVE!
Take your business plan for instance. On paper, it can be and look like a TIGER ready to hunt and prowl. But it is not a genie in a lamp where it is wish driven but instead must be monitored and directed as it is a living … (4 comments)

contact: ALMOST ASLEEP WHEN SUDDENLY... - 11/24/14 12:01 AM
BING bing! I wasn't expecting it and it pulled me right out of my pre-sleep mode. Instantly, and in the dark, I reach over to where my trusted smart phone is groping until I touch it. I lift it and the screen lights up the room and written on it is a message. Now I don't get calls or messages well into the evening...
YOU NEVER KNOW
That's why I answer them. I naturally safely assume someone is in need. This is an important contact. Everyone who knows me doesn't do this and I don't get solicitations this late at night. Yes, my math says, answer because … (12 comments)

contact: EASE OF USE IS NOT A REQUEST BUT A REQUIREMENT - 11/18/14 10:56 PM
This title of the post applies to all aspects in the human realms. Making something so simple that it can be grasped is still a "can't" fail dynamic and everyone wins when it is engaged. Then why are some things not user friendly? The other day, someone shared with me about the train depots and systems in Mexico...I thought it appropriate as an example
THE GIRAFFE & THE ELEPHANT
In Mexico, you are dealing with all walks of life some urban, country, visitors, and the like who need to get around and they have different ways of identifying each train and where … (7 comments)

contact: THIS TOPIC NEVER GETS OLD - 10/15/14 12:02 AM
Answering the phone. The phone is a tool of the business. Look at it as opening the front door of a bricks & mortar operation. When you put the key in the lock, reverse the closed sign to open, turn on the lights, people can now come and go. Your in business! Supporting that is what banks did for centuries called banking hours. Today, the phone is just that. It is a call (pun) and an answer (pun) to business

contact: GOT A REFERRAL THE OTHER DAY OR DID I? - 10/13/14 11:34 PM
I was in court so my phone was turned off and the call went to voice mail. If I wasn't in a meeting, I would have let it go to voice mail as well. WHY? The words UNKNOWN appear on my cell phone screen. In today's world of knowing and being known, UNKNOWN doesn't appeal to me.
WHOSE SPEAKING?
That used to be the standard everywhere you went for centuries in regards to meeting people. Everyone introduced themselves because it was rude, discourteous if you didn't and expected of them to do so and if you didn't, it stopped right there or got off to a … (17 comments)

contact: WILL RESPOND - 09/14/14 04:29 AM
When I get a communication, if I don't have an answer or don't want to give one in the moment...you will get a brief two word reply from me that at least acknowledges the contact. Ignoring someone or causing them to doubt as to whether you got the message or are indifferent is eliminated with two words
WILL RESPOND
Ignoring someone is not an option. If it is late at night or you are busy, why not just send the two words out and you are good to go. No guilt. No betrayal of your business model. No hurt feelings and you actually have kept the door open for when … (11 comments)

contact: DO YOU SPEAK SIXTH GRADE? - 09/14/14 12:22 AM
Sixth grade. That's right. It is not condensing and speaking it normally allows me to be fluent in it when I unleash the point of the speak. Why do I speak 6th grade? WHY NOT? To me, that means everyone from 6th grade on up can hear me. Whats wrong with that? That means from 11 years old to 111 years old, we can have a meaningful exchange
IT MAKES POINTS
What a broad audience to exchange with as well. Its not that I am after anything a young person would want to know. It is so that my point, your time and my … (5 comments)

contact: WHERE ALL ROADS LEAD TO... - 07/07/14 07:49 AM
YOU. They lead to you! Blogging, commenting, posting, socializing, advertising, web sites, signage and word of mouth all end up at some point on your doorstep and then, you will hear this knocking sound. That is the  opportunity trying to get you to answer the door and let it complete its journey
$10,000 says answer the phones
I worked in an office doing loan modifications during the most recent Real Estate crash and every week, the office manager would take out an ad that would cost $10,000 to run. He would tell everyone prior to the ad breaking that he bought ads and … (4 comments)

contact: YOUR PROFILE SHOULDN'T TAKE A WHILE - 07/07/14 12:24 AM
Some peoples profiles reads like an epic story of their life's journey. I know what happens. They start writing a little something and all the life memories and feelings kick in and they shift into a diary mode and since it is all true, the profile is now their life's story. What could be wrong with that? EVERYTHING!
ATTENTION SPAN
For one thing, you have violated and at the very least, overlooked a very important dynamic. It is called attention span. People all over the world have spans that operate between a few seconds and the next distraction whatever that may be.

contact: THE HAND AND FINGERS ARE BACK IN STYLE - 05/14/14 12:28 AM
Blogging, posting and commenting is making people think, feel and react who normally would just reach for the remote control back in the day instead of their keyboards.  I was watching some kids the other day work a a smart phone with their thumbs scrolling and texting away
THAT THUMB AIN'T DUMB
I didn't know a thumb could do all that. I mean I have seen young kids thumbs and fingers become blurs when it came to using their phones to communicate with. My thumb just does the normal activities that are required of it. I don't require acrobatics while texting etc

contact: LETS BE CLEAR ABOUT BEING AVAILABLE - 05/13/14 03:10 AM
Unless you are running an Emergency treatment room staffed for 24 hour shifts, who works 24/7? Sometimes we make a point by saying we do but lets face it, Real Estate agents and other Real Estate centered folks will not answer the phone at certain times
DAILY PERFORMANCES
Consider that the Real Estate industry is geared toward certain working hours having to do with business and perhaps consultations. However, what can an agent really do in off or odd hours? Most of our activities centers on acceptable normal business hours for our performances

When I have product, it … (35 comments)

contact: I'M OKAY WITH YOU NOT ANSWERING - 04/26/14 02:04 AM
Funny how one persons beliefs can be another's windfall. I am talking about how we communicate with each other, when and if it is consistent. On and off again may suit the person doing it but the one who needed you when you decided to be OFF called someone who was ON
BRANDING TAKES PLACE WHETHER YOU PLAN IT OR NOT
Branding is where it all ends up and consistency paints a handsome and true picture too. For decades, I was known for answering my phone. People in meetings needed answers and often my name would come up not for knowledge especially but because I was available when it … (4 comments)
