Have you ever considered why we have locking gas caps? A couple of reasons come to mind. First, the really bad news. Vindictive people, you know the ones that lose it and pay you back for either real or perceived slights had access to your car and its well being. One little cube of sugar placed in the tank can cause you so much expensive woe. The other bad reason was people would siphon off your paid for gasoline YES...KIDS DO STUFF Now I am going to take a little risk here and share what I did in my youth decades ago. These cars (BMW) will turn off when at a stop light and when the light turns green, start up again and off you go. Apparently it is a gas-saving technique. Now, I am going to admit that I have always heard that starting and stopping a car engine wastes gas and puts wear and tear on things...Now they say different COMING SOON TO AMERICA Not only that, but American cars will be introducing this in 2012 as a standard feature.
