When I first heard this statement, I was at odds with it. Why? How can being ignorant reward a person? If you live in the "wanting to get ahead and do well world" of events, ignorance is a hinder not a helper. Yet in time, the wisdom of this statement is delivered to you and it holds when it does. A few decades ago, when I knew nothing about everything, I was introduced to several aspects of the Real Estate business. I worked for a man that did property management which was my entry level point into Real Estate. No license was necessary as he owned all his properties. He also did appraisals, second TD loans, construction and whatever the Real Estate industry required

There are certain subjects that escape me entirely. Some of them are things I don't know about because I had little or no exposure to it and other subjects I could care less about knowing. I have shaken another mans hand and I knew that what we agreed to would take place and that was that. I also have had to sign 20 page small print agreements known as contracts that define what is or is not allowed and that was the understanding. In each case, it was the person behind it all that came first and then the agreement

When buying a home, it is understandable that when spending hundreds of thousands of dollars, one would want all that... THAT type of money could buy. Apply the principal to other subjects as an example. If you were spending BIG BUCKS on eating, clothes or travel, you would want top premium in return

I remember how it all started. This wanting to be rich. It came on its own and presented itself. Back in the day, many years ago, I just bought a home for $60k and put 10% down in the mid 1970's. Over half of the ten percent down payment came from my employer at the time. I managed to save $3500 while married and raising a couple of kids. That's no small feat back then and when it all came together, there are no words to describe your first savings, your first home or feelings that come with it all

I have done jury duty. You learn a lot by doing so. One particular session involved a criminal charge of having a crack pipe in their possession which supported another charge of having drugs. We heard the evidence, were given court instructions and went into session. No one really knows anyone else on the jury panel when you first start out....but that cures itself rather quickly

First a warning not to judge me on what I did in youth. I was young, energetic, can never die, my senses and reaction time sharp and crisp, full of energy and open to adventure. My common sense was not fully developed but I had a like-able attitude and learned fast too. I keyed in to maximizing my time especially while driving. No car, GPS or cell phones back then but still lots to do and get done daily
