patriotic: PATRIOTIC SONGS IN SCHOOL

Short post to pay homage to patriotic songs that we don't hear too much about. I grew up with these songs as it was required singing in 5th and 6th grade public schools back in the 50/60's. They had a auditorium period and the principal of all people would go to the head of the auditorium and conduct the singing of one song after another THEY WEREN'T JUST WORDS Even in my young, innocent and naive mind and body I was able to sense at a tender age the enthusiasm, excitement and the "want to" in everyone in that room enjoying themselves. patriotic: SCHOOL ASSEMBLY WAS FUN AND MEMORABLE

When I was in public school which was grades 1-6, they had a weekly assembly of the whole school. It was very well organized and carried out. A signal bell would go off in the class rooms and that told the teacher to have us stand and then proceed single file out the door following her single file. THE WHOLE SCHOOL ASSEMBLED Then, everyone proceeded toward the large auditorium and were seated orderly and precision like row after row.
