public speaking: THIS IS VERY SCARY TO MANY PEOPLE - 03/21/15 12:26 AM
It is a fear that is fueled by strong emotions and beliefs that have no real basis but manage to do much self-harm until we shed the necessary light and education that makes this become less than what it is. More people suffer from this than you would believe and the thought of it is even more scarier that the act!
PUBLIC SPEAKING
If this comes up in anyone's world for just a quick moment, it can cause trembling, arguments, denial, huge emotional reactions, severe knocking of the knees, sweaty palms, stuttering, loss for words, dry throat, cruel and unusual self-punishment and sentencing...and much more!

public speaking: BODY LANGUAGE DESERVES RESPECT - 10/10/14 03:23 AM
Body language is a whole science unto itself. Fascinating to read up and then practice on this subject and learn how the body speaks and reveals what the person inside is thinking and doing when it does. The subject is of itself subjective meaning that the "tells" and "signs" that the body stands for do not always mean the same thing
A BURP?
Crossing ones arms means they are blocking communication or it can mean they are cold. The movement or the gesture in and of itself is not foolproof and must be taken in with what is going on in the moment … (7 comments)

public speaking: ANNUAL REMINDER OF WATCH WHAT YOU SAY - 08/18/14 09:52 AM
We do each other a great service when we remind each other to be mindful of expressing ones full thoughts and feelings over the Internet, online in front of everyone now and forever more. Even people who are mega-wealthy, powerful and famous learn at some point to keep the ole mouth shut!
OBSERVE & LISTEN
If you have ever been to marriage counseling, the counselor primes the conversation pumps and invites the "two" who are attending to comment so the counselor can see how they handle disagreement, sharing, exploring, feelings, emotions, and resolutions. The counselor then becomes an observer and a listener

public speaking: PEARLS FOR THE SOUL over 800 POSITIVE SAYINGS PERFECT GIFT - 12/16/13 09:56 AM
You may be wondering why I’ve called them Pearls for the Soul. The soul is the essence, or core, of the human being – that place where God and man interact and understand each other through insight and revelation.
THE SOUL NEEDS TO BE WHOLE
The soul must be acknowledged, or fed, and if it is not, it eats what is available. Unfortunately, in today’s environment, that diet consists mostly of earthly desires and treasures, which leave the soul hungry. We forget that the soul needs spiritual nourishment to thrive and grow. Feed the soul, and you have fed everything.

public speaking: BLOGGING IS A PUBLIC ARENA THINK THROUGH EMOTIONAL RESPONSES - 10/14/11 05:43 AM
I just finished reading a comment where a service provider (someone who provides services to others) made a comment that not only mocks, but disrespects the very public we are talking to. I have to remain deliberately vague, but the point of this post should be obvious
BEWARE THE KISS OF DEATH...IT KISSES THEE
Think through what you are going to say and then become aware that is now becomes public record on how you stand or feel on the subject matter. If you are able to express your self publicly putting quality public relations efforts to work, go at it. … (49 comments)

public speaking: PEOPLE WHO DONT SPEAK UP WHEN THEY SHOULD ARE PART OF THE PROBLEM - 09/07/11 11:29 AM
Nothing burns me up more than gossiping and people who spend time on meaningless issues that profit no one. Furthermore, when it is your turn to speak up about anything, your turn is literally that YOUR TURN and because you are intelligent, involved and going through life in this period of time, it is required of you to contribute
WE DON'T NEED REFEREES..WE NEED PARTICIPANTS

public speaking: BUT BUT BUT....is a take a way.... - 07/16/11 03:35 AM
Who hasn't heard this or have done it at least once in your life time. If you have parented or supervised, then you will admit you have been there and done that. I am talking about the word BUT. It starts out simply enough. Someone praises you and the way the sentence starts, you know what's coming very soon.....BUT
WELL well well...BUT
I really like the way you have arranged the office...BUT
I hear what you had to say....BUT
Sure, all that's fine and dandy...BUT
I will do as you say ..BUT

public speaking: GENERAL REMINDER: KEEP THIS IN MIND WHEN POSTING AND COMMENTING - 07/02/11 11:19 AM
What appears to be many moons ago, when I first started posting and blogging here in ActiveRain land, someone posted a reminder to be careful what you say and how you say it. It was referencing not so much as manners or etiquette...NO, the main message was that it goes out into the Internet world for future clients & principals to see
WE ARE NOT ALONE

public speaking: REMEMBER THE TOWN CRIER? They yell the time and then reported..... - 03/28/11 06:15 AM
Its in the old movies. There was a profession in the 1700's England where you were hired to walk the neighborhood and cry out what the time was and to state all is well. Of course, all had to be well for you to cry all is well. Usually it was. It was not uncommon to announce things at that time also
THE PROCEDURE
First they would shot the time and then add.....So and so had a baby and all is well. The street around the corner was repaired and all is well. The city is safe and all is well. … (2 comments)

public speaking: NEW IDEA TO PRACTICE ALL YEAR...WITH CONGRESS & THE AMERICAN PEOPLE - 01/25/11 09:33 AM
ALL year long....People from all across America can travel to Congress and have five minutes at the microphone on any subject they choose. Congress has to sit there and not comment, but mark off the different subjects bought up......
After everyone has been given their chance to speak and congress recorded all the subjects, then the subjects with the most comments have to be addressed first and then worked on until solved.  Then the next subject and the next until we have addressed the peoples concerns. In essence, we fed them their agenda for the next year...
Next, all the lobbyists … (2 comments)

public speaking: COMMUNICATION......IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE COMMUNICATOR - 08/25/10 06:52 AM
How often in college..... I used to see hands go up with puzzled faces on the first day of class right after the syllabus was handed out. Just first glance at the class instruction tells you that something is not clear and the questions that followed proved it. People think just because they have written or said something.....that it was received. That is your first mistake and unless corrected, your last....
IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE COMMUNICATOR......TO COMMUNICATE
