We can only process so much data whether it is deliberate (seeking) or submitted (awareness) at one time keeping in mind how much can be retained? What is necessary? Do we allow ourselves to drift or be distracted or do we maintain a reachable and inviting alertness until an interest or prompting appears? Too little or not enough can be controlled subject to two things.. HOW MUCH WE CAN PROCESS The desire to do anything is not talked about enough. Why would anyone come to a place where there is smog, traffic, congestion, high crime, extra expenses, and so many rules and regulations? Because that is where you go to make money. Perhaps the only other acceptable answers are to find a mate or to visit others caught up in the greatest race of all...THE RAT RACE WHAT IS QUIET ? I speak as a fellow rat...a city boy who always wondered about great open spaces, vast seas, deep rich valleys, thick forests, wildlife, and lovely climbable mountains. I came across a little article that caused me to think. It goes like this. The O.E.C.D. or the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development just completed a poll which is comprised of data from 34 member countries that concluded that Mexicans put in 10 hours per day of work they get paid for and some that they don't. OTHERS WORK HARD TOO Worthy to note that the Japanese, South Koreans, and the Chinese all work similar hours, but put in less hours of unpaid labor such as cooking and cleaning. I am going to submit to you something for your consideration. It is not a big deal but it is worthy of a second look. So often, with all our adult responsibilities, we get caught up in being too serious, too responsible, too willful and too focused on the obvious. What happens is that joy, fun, mystery, and adventure has been left out of our lives. Not just the big picture either. The moment that we are in is affected and carried into the next moment too..
