chestertown: Leaving the Life on the Chester River - 12/15/08 10:34 PM
Nestled along the banks of the Chester River, Chestertown is a wonderful little town that offers a big bang for your buck.  Wonderful homes are available in all price ranges, from the cute little bungalow well under 200K to divine waterfront properties.   Chestertown offers a bustling downtown area full of antiques, gift shops, book shops, restaurants with food to die for (you must try BRIX, the new tapas, wonderful food and atmosphere)
Being the seat of Kent County, Chestertown has a wonderful hospital, Chester River Hospital Center, great physicians, a retirement home, Heron Point which is situated on the banks of … (0 comments)

chestertown: Antiqueing in Chestertown - 07/18/08 10:13 PM

Every Wednesday (unless Christmas falls on a Wednesday) Dixon Sale Barn has their auction, over 20 acres and a huge warehouse just full of things to sell  People bring their "trash" which becomes someone's "treasures".  The items are all auctioned that day.  You must make arrangements to pay by check or credit card, otherwise, cash is due at the time the auctioneer says "sold" There are helpers to get your treasures to the car.  Despite the fact there are antique dealers, it's amazing the deals that can be made.
And then, inside the warehouse are Amish vendors who sell wonderful … (0 comments)

chestertown: Market activity for CHESTERTOWN - 05/23/08 09:43 PM
Definitely picked up in the last couple of months, we have been busy and the buyers are buying.   A couple of my listings sold and closed in 45 days, which is awesome!  Our listing side has always been strong, but the buyers are coming out.  Maybe it's because the media is onto something else, and combine that with usual spring activity?  A couple of my listings have sold within 35 days, which my sellers and I are thankful for!

What are your thoughts?   How is your market doing?
Happy Memorial Day!  Be safe and have a good one.  Check out … (1 comments)

This little listing is having a tough time getting to market!!

You may remember the owners have spiffed up yard, front door.  Priced at 259,900, which is as low as they want to go... I have held open houses (organizeed a community wide one), postcards, flyers, on the 'net... I have given them comps, etc., to show them where they need to be (below 250,000)
I am turning to the RAIN...for tips/suggestions/ideas.... Thanks in advance!

chestertown: Searching for: An owner with Vision! - 04/26/08 05:33 PM

My sellers living in upstate NY, and this property has been a rental.  Needs a lot of work and " loving".  Comps show it should be around 189,000.   Despite multiple conversations AND emails with comps, very low activity in a steadily improving market, I can't get my seller below 219,000.    We have had an offer of 150,000, which she countered back at 200K
Any suggestions?  3 bedrooms 2 baths, W&D, back yard, historic district of Chestertown...
