thanksgiving: My Boys! ! ! - 11/25/19 07:08 AM
This story almost ended before it started.  We had tried everything.  The doctor said we were both completely healthy.  In some cases, couples just can't have children.  It is one thing to have a definable roadblock.  It is quite another to be met with the unknown. The question becomes, why us or even what did we do wrong?
It would have ended right there, if it was only me.  My wife, Mary Margaret, had different plans.  She convinced me that we should become foster parents and eventually adopt.  Soon thereafter, we received a phone call from the Sacramento Receiving … (41 comments)

thanksgiving: Grateful For My Business and My Clients - 11/22/19 11:03 AM
A few days ago, I was reviewing offers with my clients.  They paused and said, "you know, you do more than most agents, why?"  I have found that most real estate agents are very generous, but who knows?  Before I answer the question, here are some of the things I have done for past clients pretty much pro bono.
help prepare and run estate sales crack a safe (who would have thought?) hang a fire door with my client paint odds and ends to sharpen up a house.  In my past life, I owned Henson Paining. place bark in … (20 comments)

thanksgiving: Running a Half Marathon is For Crazy People - 11/14/19 05:11 PM
Running a half marathon is for crazy people.  That is what I told my wife, Mary Margaret, when she wanted us to train for the Shamrock'n half marathon.  I did not run with her, but I was at the finish line as her most avid fan.  Hey, it can be tough to be a fan.  It was hot out there and I got a bit of a sunburn. ;o)

thanksgiving: A Great Round of Golf! - 11/09/19 05:45 AM
No, I can not drop everything and go to Las Vegas to see Santana and play golf.  That is how my conversation started a few weeks ago.  Like all good friends would do, they totally ignored me.  Ray, you love Santana and we will be standing right in front of the stage.  I can't go.  But Ray, two days of golf on beautiful courses awaits you.  Ha,  you saw my last round.  I don't think I even like golf any more.  Come on Ray,  there will be great food and we will all be there together.  A weekend with my … (24 comments)

thanksgiving: Fun Run, Is That Possible! - 11/25/10 02:50 PM

My family had a great Thanksgiving today.  We started the day in the Run to Feed the Hungry.  This is a holliday tradition in our house.  Most years we run the 10K, but this year good sense prevailed and we ran the 5K.  It still felt like a 10K, but what a beautiful course.  We ran through some of the nicest neighborhoods in Sacramento, East Sacramento and the Fabulous Forties.  Incredible older homes and old trees in their spectacular fall colors.  The course also starts and finishes at the Sacramento State College Campus.  If I have to run, this is the place to do it.
