I rode my bike to Kailua Bay to go for a swim this weekend and saw that they were having outrigger canoe races. Outrigger canoe clubs are very popular out here in Hawaii. Just about any coastal town has a club and on occasion they all get together and compete. Outrigger canoes have always been an important part of Hawaiian culture. I often have home buyers ask about homes within walking distance to the beach in Kona.
