Sarasota property sales hit their highest levels since 2005!  May sales were at 766, the highest number of sales for the year.  This number represents a 51.3% increase over May of 2009 and was the highest number of sales in any month since December of 2005.  It truly is incredible to think that our area is doing so fantastically well! Listen,  not to pick on anyone anyone else just plain sick and tired of hearing all the negativity about the real estate market?  Is it just me?  How many Realtors do you know that just moan and groan...continuously?  Boo Hoo..I am sooooo tired of hearing it!

I could give you all of the stats that you are likely already reading on the plethora of other blogs on this issue. I will give you the stats...just in case.  Seriously, Sarasota is doing exceptionally well in recovering from the burst.  I have always said that we would.  Why you ask? sarasota market stats: Sarasota December 2009 Property Sales the Best in 33 Months! - 01/24/10 02:18 AM
Against all of the negative national home sales hoopla, Sarasota saw 648 total property salesclosed in December of 2009.  This number represents the most closed transaction in Sarasota County since March 2007!  For those buyers who are still pondering whether Sarasota's market has come back, you need only to look at the increased sales and diminishing inventory.  Overall for all of 2009, sales were up 22.7% from 2008.  Of all of those sales over 40% were distressed property sales, up from 21.2% in 2008.
