A few days ago I read a blog by JMac on Active Rain that really hit home. Integrity…maybe the missing link in real estate…for everyone. The post described how trust was something that had to be earned on both sides of a real estate transaction. An agent needs to trust their client just as much as a client – whether they are a buyer or seller - needs to trust the agent. When posting in the comment thread, I described it as the vicious cycle vs. the virtuous circle. Trust is hard because so many people are indeed dishonest. There (18 comments)
If a lockbox could talk – they would probably have a lot to say for themselves. They know that they are more than just a pretty face adorning your front door. They understand that most sellers don’t fully appreciate them, but they don’t mind. They know that if you understood what they do -you appreciate them more. After all – they look like a simple mechanical device – but a lock box is much more than that. A lock box increases the flow of buyers through your home and it is an indication to agents and buyers that you are (16 comments)

A few days ago I “stole” some time to indulge in a walk and photo-session at the Rockefeller Preserve. Fortunately, I brought my telephoto lens…and as luck would have it – I was able to capture several shots of this new mom and her brood of ducklings. Seriously, I could almost just see her “smiling” with pride! The ducklings were all over the place floating around on the water like tiny corks. They were bobbing their heads in the water – with their tail feathers in the air – as Mom looked on watchfully.

Part 1 of “This Brokerage Has 750 Listings…..So they must be the best! ” was prompted by the fact that the Westchester NY real estate market had changed and as a result, I was getting more and more questions about what a brokerage brought to the table in terms of marketing. I emphasized the importance of choosing the right agent and that the brokerage itself was of less importance. I also indicated that there was a lot of smoke and mirrors regarding brokerage brands and what that means to the seller in terms of marketing the home. In the end, (2 comments)
