2011 Monthly to do list for homeowners One of the biggest monetary investments in a person's life is the purchase of a home. Below, I have listed monthly to do projects to protect your home and investment:
January: Check air filters on the heating system. A clean filter promotes better function from your unit. Also, open and close cutoff valves to sinks and toilets to be sure they are in proper working condition. February: Clean any lint from the clothes dryer exhaust ducts. Inspect the flexible pipe behind the dryer to ensure it isn't cracked (4 comments)

There were so many flavors and toppings to choose from. My son had chocolate ice cream sans the toppings. My two daughters had vanilla with every topping offered...chocolate syrup, nuts, M&Ms, crushed Oreos, and so much more. As for me, I opted for the chocolate/vanilla swirl with crushed Oreos, whipped cream and a cherry. Boy, was (4 comments)

Went out for an early dinner with the wife and kids the other day. Not really knowing what we wanted to eat, we headed down I85 south toward Charlotte in search of what looked good. There, in the distance, rising above the trees like a beacon was the sign. It was a Red Robin Restaurant.
My wife told me Red Robin is best known for it's burgers. So, of course, I ordered the Hawaiian chicken (I have to be different). It came with two types of dipping sauce... salsa and ranch salsa. I have (6 comments)

concord nc real estate: Proposal: The $8000 tax break as a downpayment - Incentive to Concord NC buyers?
- 05/18/09 08:03 AM
The Federal Housing Administration is considering to permit its lenders to allow home buyers to use the $8,000 tax credit as a down payment.Originally, buyers wouldn't receive the funds until after they filed their tax return. That deterred some people from using the credit. The National Association of Realtors has been calling for the change. If this goes into effect, FHA's lenders will be permitted to "monetize" the tax credit through short-term bridge loans. This will allow home buyers to access the funds immediately at the closing table. This could be yet another incentive for buyers to get off the fence! I'll post more about (13 comments)

This is a follow up to my post about the school bus that was involved in an accident on the way toCamp Thunderbird in South Carolina. That same day, Mr. Sheppard, Superintendent of Cabarrus County schools, contacted Great Wolf Lodge to see if arrangements could be made to accommodate the children, to try and make up for the accident and canceled school trip.
Well, on May 11, that is exactly what happened. The 5th grade class was treated to a day at Great Wolf at no charge!
Great Wolf is conveniently located off of I85 near Concord Mills Mall (16 comments)
Most of the other scouts had been at the camp since the previous late afternoon. So, we had a whole day to catch up on. It didn't take long for my son to get into the swing of things. We arrived in time to help cook dinner. The theme of this camporee was primitive cooking.
