blogging: Dog Gone it, How Do I Blog? - 12/22/22 02:14 PM
Step #1 for Blogging Success:
Just Do It! (As Nike used to say.)
When ever we consider trying something new the hardest step is the FIRST one. "I never did that before, what if I'm no good at it?
Without knowing how to blog I was still very aware of the benefits of it. Number one being FREE advertising on a national scale. That alone was worth giving it a try even if I might fall flat on my face.
I had not written much of anything in 40 years but I thought back to my high school days and Creative Writing class was my … (12 comments)

blogging: Happy Anniversary - 02/28/22 01:17 PM
On April 24th 2008 I signed on to Active Rain.
14 years of blogging have been a God send for me. I've always loved writing and excelled at in in High School through a brand new class offered, Creative Writing.
I quit writing after High School because when I excitedly showed off my work (that I was really proud of) all I heard was "this is spelled wrong, that is spelled wrong" and on and on. No one could see my creativeness, my humor, my me. It was horrible.
Along came spell check and over the years I made a dedicated effort to improve … (17 comments)

blogging: My 1st Outdoor Blog of 2019 - 03/23/19 02:34 PM
It's March 23rd and I'm blogging outdoors again. It feels good! Last year I purchased a 4' X 6' green house in hopes of getting a head start on enjoying North Dakota's late and cool Spring. It worked great and I felt it was worth the money spent even if the equipment would only last a year.
Surprise! The equipment made it through last spring and early Summer so I packed it away until yesterday and now it's back up and working great. I've equipped it with a tiny heater so now I can even use it for it's intended use, a … (26 comments)

blogging: Woo - Hoo, I made page 3 ! - 07/24/18 08:02 AM

I don't set a lot of "goals", I'm just not motivated that way (in general) BUT Active Rain has excited me in many goal setting ways over the 12 years I've been here.
Active Rain has encouraged me to be a consistent writer, something I had envisioned all the way back to my High School years.
Active Rain has encouraged me to strengthen my knowledge outside of my local market.
Active Rain has encouraged me to develop many skills related to marketing... especially on line marketing.
In the very beginning of my involvement with Active Rain, April 24 2008 at 8:51 PM, my goal was … (64 comments)

blogging: My Blogging Bunny 2018 - 06/24/18 06:34 PM

This is the 2nd year for this rabbit in our yard. I believe it was born under our shed last year and she gave birth to a little one early this spring who has already moved on a couple of houses down. She is a little skittish but let's me get with-in about 10' of her. Often, when I'm blogging on the deck she will come out from under the shed and come to the deck (but not on it) and dine near the bottom of the steps.

They both showed up for a reunion tonight but not at the same time.

blogging: Maximizing Minot's Spring Weather - 04/26/18 04:49 PM

With the advent of Spring coming to Minot North Dakota I could no longer blog from the basement. Although I had set up enough lighting in the basement I could get a tan down there it just doesn't compare to being out on the deck blogging.
That being said sitting on the deck and typing with mittens and a parka on isn't all that appealing either so I needed to find a solution.
My first thought was a nice 3 seasons room like my neighbor sells for about $25,000. My next thought was the little green house I have but it is only about 2 feet … (13 comments)

blogging: Meet My Blogging Bunny, Cashmere. - 07/24/16 01:26 AM

I've mentioned in other posts my blogging bunny/buddy. Well this post is just about Cashmere, my blogging bunny. Please forgive my "baby" voice on this video. When I talk to my buddy I'm afraid to use my real voice as my natural deeper tone my frighten her.

While blogging out on the deck this summer I've often been joined by a furry little friend I call my "Blogging Bunny". I think she's to cute to call Blog so I decided on Cashmere. Yesterday she must have thought I was lonely or that we had a lot to talk about as she just sat … (5 comments)

blogging: Busy as a .... - 07/05/16 06:16 AM

Bee!

Actually the bee above is not that busy, he's dead. I just hit the nest with some wasp killer and instead of falling to the ground he got caught in a spider web. It must be a pretty fine web as neither the camera or I see it.
Unlike the bee I'm alive and I've been extremely busy. No complaints here, quite the opposite, I'm thanking the Lord that he has greatly blessed me and National Marketing Realtors.
The purpose of this post is not to brag but to explain why I've been a little less active as a blogger over the past month. … (13 comments)

blogging: Tweetin With Peep - 05/17/16 09:42 AM

I should say I'm blogging and tweeting with Peep.

The weather is finally nice enough to blog on the deck in shorts and a T-shirt along with the expert "tweeter" of the family, Peep. Tweet is her only message despite thousands of attempts to teach her to talk. She loves the keyboard but who knows what language she is pecking. I'm sure if she could type in English she would wish you a good evening.
