Our locally owned Christian radio station has it's annual fall "Sharathon" that starts on October 7th and I've agreed to man the phone lines (by myself) for the first 4 hours of the Sharathon.
Sharathon was created to make up for the revenue the station does NOT make by refusing to advertise liquor, tobacco, casinos, and the like.
I support Christian radio because it was instrumental in my understanding and becoming a Christian. I owe them my eternal life!

It's A Deck!
Our new pride and joy! Our home had a deck when we purchased it 13 years ago but it was not very safe so we removed it about a year or two after we purchased the home. Now that all the remodel/rebuild work is done from the flood we decided to put a new deck on. Can't wait for next spring and summer when we can enjoy it for the entire "deck" season.

WOW! I'm so pleased with every ones input about the work my graphic designer is doing on a logo for me. Yesterday I posted a color logo that, thanks to your input (especially Jill Murty, Realtor - Orange County, CA ) is under further construction. You will see some minor adjustments on the logo with this business card sample. The logo below is metallic Gold and will remain so on my card but I will also be using the Red, White, and Blue logo as well when appropriate.

After about 6 weeks of going back and forth with my Graphic Artist, Kayla Cote of Cote Creative, we came up with the design above. It wasn't the easiest of choices as Kayla had some very good work to chose from. It was especially tempting to take one of her designs in Gold or Silver but I felt with my biggest client base coming from the Minot Air Force Base, and the name National it would be best to go with Red and Blue on White. What do you think?

Where To Close, You Have A Choice In Minot
Once you have found that home you love and your financing has been approved what/where do you go next?
Well... in North Dakota, most often, the deal is closed at a title company. Government regulations are so tight that I want to say up front that as far as I know all fees are the same so "shopping" for a title team is limited to who you think will give you the best service... they are both going to give you the same price.

Minot's New Airport, Out With The Old, In With The New
Minot's old airport wasn't that old and it really was is a nice building but... with the booming economy Minot has had for about 20 years straight it just was to small to accommodate the number of flights in and out of Minot. When it was built I think we had about two commercial flights out a day in Minot.
As you can see the new airport is much larger. It is to open yet this fall/winter. I believe we are now experiencing about 30 flights a day.

Thumbs Up To Windows 10
I recently upgraded my tablet from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10. I couldn't be happier. I don't know what Windows was thinking when they tried to immitate Googles Android system but I'm sure glad they offered us an out with a free download of Windows 10. I also downloaded 10 on my netbook (Acer Aspire One) replacing Windows 7... not sure how I'm feeling about that as it was kind of an accident because I like Windows 7.

My New Sign Shed
With some remodeling of the entry way of my office I lost the space that I kept my signs in. I went shed shopping and this is what I ended up. I needed something small because it actually sits on a sidewalk and I don't want to take up the whole sidewalk. I also purchased this one because it's maintenance free and it said "Easy To Assemble".

MIXED MESSAGES
This new sign caught my eye yesterday as I drove by it for the first time.
It's really not to tough of a mystery to figure out but I thought it was kind of cute.
It made me think how we all send mixed messages at times and how it can cause confussion and even cost us business (not to mention the messes it can make in our personal lives).
This sign is at the new Minot Airport pointing out the new parking lot and reminding you that you can not park on the street.

Hate is a strong word... but I HATE ESPN!!!
Let me count the ways:
#1) First and foremost I hate pay TV.
I've never understood the concept of paying for TV when there has always been free TV out there. I use an antenna and receive about 13 channels. If there is nothing on them then it's time to find something else to do... like interact with a human.
#2) I love football.
I used to love Monday Night Football. Thanks allot ESPN for ruining that! I don't even get to see my teams opening night this year because it's on ESPN and it starts after … (20 comments)

Walking through the park on a windy Saturday I had to snap this picture. I thought about all the applications this could be used for and I must say that I thought of AR Bloggers Grant Schneider and Lou Ludwig with their motivational themes.

I Saw It In The Clouds
This group of clouds made me stop the car. First and foremost was that I don't believe I've ever seen a square cloud before. That has to be a Borg space ship in disguise. Then there is that giant frogs head and a hand sticking out with the thumb on top and 4 fingers on the bottom. I did not docter up this photo in any way! Except what you see below of course.

North Dakota weather can turn on a dime! Last week we were in the upper 90's and this week has been in the 60's and 70's for day time highs. The lows have been in the 40's this week. I remember Trick or Treating in the snow more times than not.
The National Weather Service says that typically North Dakotain's can see their first freezing temps of the year anywhere from September 11th to September 30th. Here in North Dakota most of us pray FOR Global Warming.

Butte ND is a little community of about 100 people. Once a teeming metropolis of close to 700. The school above closed years ago as did the elevator and several of the many churches around town (I counted 7 church buildings). The following pics are from in Butte ND and the 12 mile road to Russo ND, even more of a ghost town than Butte ND. Maybe! Just because housing sales are up nationally does not mean that they are up in every city and in every neighborhood. The old adage still rings true: location, location, location. Also, no matter how hot a market most people are not willing to purchase at any price.

I just drove from my office to downtown Minot ND do make a special blog post on a friends antique shop. When I got out of my car and walked to the door people started to stream out of all the downtown buildings seemingly looking for something.
