camping: It Wasn't Boot Camp - 07/08/19 12:30 PM
I was AWL from AR for a couple of days but for good reason... we got the little Scamp camper out for it's maiden voyage of 2019.
We did not get the site I like the most but I felt really lucky to get a spot at all being it was the 4th of July weekend. That being said about half of the reserved sites didn't even show up... which was also nice. The lake was ruff with a strong wind out of the SE but we don't boat or fish so it didn't detract from our fun at all.
A shout out … (24 comments)

camping: Our 2018 Camping Trip - 08/18/18 07:39 PM
It's August 18th, schools  about to start, and I was feeling guilty that I had not had the camper out this year... and only once last year. So off to camping we go, after all I bought new tires for the camper this year.
Our campsite.
Once again we chose to camp at East Totten Trail Campsite as we know it's usually very clean, has good facilities for the "primitive" side or the higher class camping pads with electricity. We usually go primitive and this time, for the 1st time, I brought a generator.

camping: The Closest FREE Campsite To Minot ND - 07/12/15 09:34 AM

Our maiden voyage to the campgrounds for 2015 started with a Google search. I typed in Free Camp Grounds. Wouldn't you know it, there is even a website called free camp grounds... or something like that. It showed us Buffalo Lodge … (7 comments)

camping: Oh Baby! I found THE Spot. - 07/26/14 10:35 AM

Oh Baby! I found THE Spot.
If you are a camper and/or live in a rural State you know how important it is to find "The Spot". Usually if you are camping in a remote area somebody has found "The Spot" before you and is happy to tell you where "The Spot" is.
You don't get much more remote than our church camp, Shepherds Hill At The Crossroads just out of St. John ND.
I thought I came equipt for a Realtor vacation, cell phone, netbook, mobile hot spot, etc. etc.. I didn't expect the place to be so isolated … (8 comments)

camping: Inside The Scamp (My Tiny, Tiny Camper) - 08/17/12 02:15 AM
Inside The Scamp (My Tiny, Tiny Camper)
For those of you who asked what the inside of my tiny little camer looks like here it is, as is. I do plan on having the cushions reupolstered soon and I will/maybe recarpet the floors. Also on the "to do" list is make new curtains.
I am convinced that no matter what we will have fun with it. Our first test run will be this weekend. The real test will be to see if my Honda Oddesy can handle pulling it without overheating or burning a lot of oil (as it does when I … (8 comments)
