credit advice: The 2nd BIGGEST Purchase

Next to purchasing a home they say buying a car is one's second biggest purchase. For a young person purchasing a car can be a pretty good prelude to purchasing a home. My mother-in-law owned a 2003 Chevy Cavalier much like the one photographed above. When she passed on it became my daughters car. Under Tina's care we had to replace/repair a few body parts and the Clearcoat started to disintegrate. Clearcoat is added over a cars paint job to keep it nice and shinny. Maxed out your credit card? Put it on ice... Literally! This is some great advise from fellow blogger Christina Hayes (Rainer) here on Active Rain in her post How to obtain an 800 credit score! Christina says: "If you are carrying credit card balances, don’t cancel the cards just yet. I just need you to put them on ice literally. Drop the cards in a container, add water and freeze them." Of course I'm going to say that is really COOL advice and it makes so much sense for the compulsive shopper. If there is something you really need you can wait for that block of ice (5 comments)
