fsbo: Minot Real Estate 101, Can A Realtor Work With A FSBO? - 06/19/15 05:43 AM

Can A Realtor Work With A For Sale By Owner?
Many home buyers today are confused as to how to deal with a For Sale By Owner, also known as a FSBO.
Will working with the home owner directly save me money?
Can I have my Realtor contact the home owner and continue to work for me?
There are a thousand answers to those two questions ranging from a flat out YES to each of them to a more abstract "Heck No" to both questions.
Let's cover some very basic ground on each question starting with Will working with the home owner directly save me money?

fsbo: A recent email about "Rent to Own" - 07/02/09 02:41 AM
The following was a question posted on another blog where I have several listings posted. I realize my response is controversial but that is why I'm posting it. Keep in mind as I stated to Miranda, Minot ND has a huge housing shortage and homes that sold for $35,000 just a few years ago are commanding 2 to 3 times that amount today. There are plenty of $250,000 homes available in our market but those are not the ones your typical Contract for Deed buyers are looking for.

My name is Miranda and my question is would you be willing … (0 comments)

fsbo: FSBO ..... Think About It. - 06/22/08 02:38 PM
Hey Cheapskate!   No one that I know wants to be thought of as a cheapskate. Sometimes however actions speak louder then words. I know I'm going to offend some out there when I say this but the two biggest ways of saying cheapskate in Real Estate are FSBO (pronounced FizzBo) and "will you cut your comission?".   Everyone likes a bargin but remember that when you think it's a good idea to look for a FSBO (For Sale By Owner) you are dealing with someone to cheap to hire a professional, someone who thinks they know just as much as a State Licensed … (1 comments)

fsbo: Just say NO! to FSBO - 06/13/08 06:38 AM

fsbo: How Do YOU List FSBO's? - 06/02/08 01:05 PM
We have a serious shortage of homes to sell in our market do to a booming economy fueled on by the largest oil find ever and a large expansion in our local Air Force Base. I watch Graig's list and other FSBO services on the net but when I call a new FSBO listing I seem to be one of about a dozen agents doing the same thing. If you would share any advice on how to stand out (in a GOOD way) from the rest of the crowd I'd sure like to hear it. Thanks,

fsbo: Rubbing it in, Just a little. - 05/25/08 01:04 AM

My blog about my 1991 Mercury Sable Station Wagon (a definite gas hog at 20 mpg) caused more then a little stir a month or so ago. Actually it started with someone Else's blog asking about their super gas saving model that uses less gas due to it's super-size rubber band or something. My opinion got deleted from her post.
My rub it in is that with the Memorial day holiday in full swing we (my family of four) went to the local popular family camping spot to have a little R&R. Rain hit (yes it was a pretty Active Rain) and the downpour lasted about two hours. My … (3 comments)

fsbo: Knowing Your Market - 05/23/08 12:31 PM
Knowing your market is not only a must for full time agents but if you are a part-time agent you need to keep up on the market for your sellers, your buyers, and for your own income.  I have mentioned in previous entries that I live in a unique market at this time. Oil has been discovered under North Dakota in a quantity that may dwarf the supply in Saudi Arabia. The news gets better every day here as to the size of the formation and the number of years of projected prosperity it will bring.
Recently the sale of a home … (1 comments)

fsbo: Any Like Situations - 05/06/08 07:16 AM
A friend of mine made a deal with a contractor on a townhouse. The long and short of it is that the deal fell through because he did not meet the closing dead line and a couple other minor things the two agreed on. He gave her back her deposit but refuses to compensate her for expenses she encured such as a special tub, closing costs and a light fixture. She wants to know if she has a chance of winning a small claims court suit and what would be the likelyhood of him counter sueing her. Has anyone else had a … (0 comments)
