insurance: Drowned Memories - 03/09/20 12:39 PM
It's not the Real Estate professionals place to advise clients as to what types of insurance they should purchase but if the subject should come up you may save your client(s) a lot of heart ache to let them know that when it comes to water damage more then one policy/rider may be a good idea.
Spring time is a good reminder that basements may get wet for one reason or another and often precious memories are stored in a box down in the basement.
Reading in the paper about the floods in Mississippi and the tornado in Tennessee made me think of the heartbreak I … (11 comments)

insurance: Minot State of the City Address with Mayor Shaun Sipma - 01/25/20 01:45 PM
In today's interview, 01/25/2020, Mayor Shaun Sipma and I visit about the upcoming State of the City address (Thursday February 7th) in the Arvel Graving Theater on the Magic City Campus (Minot High).

We also spend a bit of time discussing the new FEMA flood maps coming out in June and what those maps mean to those who live in the flood plain. Doug Jones post about earthquake insurance got me thinking... do I need earthquake insurance?
So I Googled "ND earthquake" to see how often we get "All Shook Up" in ND. A fairly recent article in the Bismarck Tribune says that we have had 13 quakes in the last 100 years. None of which were serious.
Of course my next call was to my insurance agent. … (10 comments)

insurance: Active Rain, Active Morning, has me thinking Insurance. - 07/23/08 12:35 AM

I'm writing this at 7 am this morning but the story really starts around 4 am. I'm not sure what woke me around 4 am but I could not help but notice that it was non-stop lightning, little or faint thunder. I layed half awake for the next hour until I got up and put the dog out and much to my amazement there was no rain yet the lightning was still non-stop and the lightning buy this time was getting loud. Then there was a BIG one, big enough to scare my 8 year old out of her bedroom … (3 comments)
