listening: Miscommunication and Perception

Sometimes I wonder if communication is improving or getting worse. Methods of communication have certainly improved technically (as mentioned in my last post about the move to 5G) but it seems like peoples focus and comprehension has gone down the toilet. If you have talked to anybody lately in regards to service needed for a product or service you purchased chances are you have had to repeat requested information over and over again. Sometimes you have to give information to artificial intelligence before you get to a human and then when you get to a human they ask the very same questions! It makes you (30 comments)
When you think of a Receptionist we usually think of an official office position and possibly a friendly face like this one.
At a recent medical appointment the Receptionist made me think she was in line to be the Gatekeeper of Hell.
That got me thinking. For those who work in an office and have the luxury of a receptionist have they been trained to greet everyone entering the office with a smile and a warm welcome? Frankly I’ve met more Gatekeepers than Receptionists over the years. Recently I visited a RE office (one I don’t like) and the Receptionist was so outstanding it (21 comments)
